UNT signed Grant Gunnell. What are we getting with this kid, and why did he leave Memphis? Thanks.

Youre gonna beat Memphis with him. Him leaving is a good question.

seems like a good guy & team mate, big kid, big arm been hurt pretty much the whole time he was here. couldnt beat out the incumbent and theres a hot shot freshman qb breathing up his neck. he did get his undergraduate degree last weekend. just didnt work out here for him the way he wanted.

On paper, North Texas has landed a fine QB. He's big and, from what I've read, rather skilled. Congrats.

i believe injury prevented him from playing, and Memphis had a freshmen qb pretty much establish himself as the starter while he was hurt

if you are behind a freshmen as a upperclass, especially anyone with pro aspirations you are likely transferring

he is from the houston area, he has a ton of potential..his stock took an insane plunge as a senior, but as a soph/junior was considered a top overall 5 recruit and holds a ton of HS records... lost a ton of games at arizona, but his personal stats were extremely good

I am pleased he is healthy. He is a good player and I wish he was in the Tiger roster. He would make a terrific backup. I predict he will do well at UTN next season.

RE: Question for Memphis Fans.......
Before he got hurt last year, by all indications, Gunnell was leading Henigan for the starting role. But Henigan went on to become a Freshman All-American, and is on track to break a lot of Tiger career records, if he can stay healthy.

And that's after following Paxton Lynch, Riley Ferguson, and Brady White.

If you say his name three times fast he'll appear behind you in the mirror late at night.

I really like him. High ceiling for sure. If he didn't get injured, he'd probably be our starter. Not taking anything away from Henigan.
