Someone ask him if he thinks there's a chance for MAC to not renew the ESPN deal? Maybe we have Saturday games on Amazon Prime or Netflix.

It's a waste of Saturday games to play on Thursday for ESPN3/+ "television coverage".

Maybe Brian Blair along with your AD (Sean Frazier) can get together on this issue for the betterment of MAC exposure !!

Keeping the light poles….can we at least paint them black so they are not as obvious.

I think the biggest reality with Scott Park is that there were no takers for the land. I mean Metroparks we’re not buying that land. Get a developer to build residence halls there

Love the idea of playing Sparty at Ford Field

Me too. Detroit or bust. Playing that game in Cleveland doesn't make much sense.

Maybe MSU would like some recruiting exposure in NE Ohio.

ND or Penn St in Cleveland would make more sense.

Why put residence halls nowhere near where classes are held?

Green in the bottom 2/3rds and faces in the top 1/3.

Farm it.

Play Ohio St at Ford Field, our best chance at having equal numbers of fans in the stadium.

$4 popcorn AND pop so it's covered by the fan plan.

If Toledo played Sparty in a bowl game we may only snag 10-15k tix. But a home game where season tix are bought??? Its a UT sellout, plus the remainder of Ford field. So we have near 50/50 if its scheduled ahead/on our schedule for years. That place holds over 60k... 30k isnt out of the question. And any locals who hate MSU (CMU , WMU, EMU, UM fans) are rooting for us.

Cincy is a different beast and soon to be in a P5 conference !!
So a rematch down the road with ND is being more realistic !!

RE: New AD Blair to meet with...
Too bad I couldn’t come to the AD meeting. Would have liked to meet the new AD and attendees. I have supported UT from a distance since graduating in 65. Have attended uMiami, Tulsa, Pitt, Syracuse, Arkansas, Minnesota, Purdue, and Navy football over the years.,.plus some BB games ( Fairfield, UMBC, Drexel, George Mason) whenever I can. My question to the AD would be: what are you doing for out of Toledo and out of Ohio alums, to spur interest in athletics and be $$$$$ supporters? My gripe, up until now, NOTHING. In my opinion only during the tenure of Frank Horton did I see any move in this direction. UT claims to be a University with nationwide interests. Check your Alumni card and look at the perks for being a member. Nada! I’ve been checking mine for 57 years and haven’t seen one out of state perk.

I did win a UT football that was autographed by the team at a NY/NJ alumni gathering a few years ago. WOW!

UT enrollment is down around 20% since 2019, no one including UT or private developers are building any new dorms resulting in additional net growth in rooms, even UT is removing dorms permanently as there simply is not the need or demand.

Sounds like the business things that get set up, like the discount at Geico for being an alum of a particular university. It's not a personal touch. I don't get that from Toledo but I live close and dont really need it. I'd rather be invited to campus.

My other University, the best I can describe it is I have a "handler," lol. Someone assigned to keep contact. If I'm going to visit campus and have any needs or just to say I'm going to visit campus, my handler always finds time. Once even surprised me a visit with a Prof (on a weekend) doing research I'd be interested in. I get random stuff in the mail. When covid hit, mask showed up. Got a paper weight. Heavy too. Had to cost more to ship than to make.

A Toledo Touch (ooh,, nice fund-raising slogan): I think would be a nice care package. Nothing expensive. And not on an occasion. Just random. Boom, shows up in the mail.

Something that says UToledo and Toledo or the school a person supports or graduated from. Packos sauce or pepper, A Libbey glass, whatever. Old picture book with photos of the person's time on and near campus, of course a photo calendar. Few Universities can put up the photoes UToledo can put up.... And why don't calendars come more personalized? I KNOW when Summer starts. But days that have something significant to who sent the calendar? Never, on this date UToledo beat the snot out that school 58-.... that sort of stuff marked on the calendar plus important dates for the coming year.

Of course, none of it ever says "send money." That comes in a different envelop. Dont just send to heavy hitters. Everyone deserves a post card. Besides, light weights die and sometimes look somewhere for the money to land they trust to use it well. It's very important to tie alums with something close to their personal values and memories. Maybe a favorite Professor who passed, has a scholarship or research fund. An athlete who has set up a fund....

Now somewhere I presume, a photo was taken of message boarders and uninvited media sitting with an AD. That would probably be a nice gift.

I was out of town and could not make it. I am in the camp that we could use some facility upgrades (GB Lights, Savage banners, etc.). My question for him is if we have some, if not the best (especially FB), great facilities the MAC then coaching to be an issue. Thought the account of the discussion on FB wins was pretty funny and insightful. I think it will be interesting to see how this plays out. I am really surprised that the SB coach was let go when it was not a high profile program that really could have waited but he chose to make a move.

Again, great job on the meeting. This board is special and great for Rocket Nation.

When Brian left the room for a minute to take a call, I told Dave Briggs and Kyle Rowland I was serious about asking the AD about the future of UT football under Candle relegating it into acceptable wins vs. losses …
They probably didn’t think that I would follow through !!
Blair being an intelligent guy was kind of diplomatic in his response and definitely did not want it to come down to an ultimatum …
An interesting evening to be sure and better yet, Brian picked up the tab !! 04-cheers

its a fair question to ask and for AD to expect to answer-guessing that his answer also is no surprise to you or any of us, seems his answer is fair and understandable as an ultimatum its not something one would expect AD to make-at least publicly. And Candle knows the deal, needs to at least make a MACC to stay on. But I appreciate you asking questions and respect the AD answering. Thanks

Finding a way to discount games on tv would be a nice treat for those that donate or hold season tickets. Anything that encourages them to stay in touch.
