RE: Gas Hike Updates
BREAKING: Washington gas stations run out of gas, add extra digit in anticipation of $10 dollar prices

Quote:Gas stations across the US are running out of fuel and in anticipation of an increase in gas prices, gas stations in the state of Washington are reportedly reprogramming pumps to include double-digit numbers in "price per gallon" as the current trend could put prices over $10.00.

At the 76 Gas Station in Auburn, Washington located at 1725 Auburn Way North, gas pumps have been reprogrammed to make room for double-digit pricing. In March, they still had single-digit programming.

A spokesperson at 76 confirmed to The Post Millennial that the gas pumps were reprogrammed to allocate for double-digit pricing. Although not confirming that they are expecting prices to increase up to $10.00 or more, the current trend suggests the possibility.

This specific gas station also sells race fuel which may have forced the reprogramming since it has also increased in pricing, the spokesperson told The Post Millennial. However, the race fuel is sold on separate pumps from the those with the standard regular, plus, premium, and diesel fuel options.

Throughout eastern Washington, gas stations are running out of fuel. In the Tri-Cities (Kennewick, Pasco, and West Richland), customers are pulling up to pumps only to find notes that state the station is out of fuel, which wasn't an issue in the past. Some stations only have diesel available.

Residents of the Tri-Cities are scrambling to find fuel. In a local Facebook group, members reported more than ten stations that are currently out of fuel, which include multiple Circle K's and Exxon's.

Gas prices have skyrocketed since President Biden took office in January 2021. The Biden administration shutdown the Keystone XL and Enbridge Line 5 pipelines which resulted in the United States becoming more reliant on other countries for oil and gas. Last year, the Colonial Pipeline was attacked by Russian hackers which caused multiple states in the South and along the East Coast to run out of gas.

Just last week, President Biden canceled a one-million-plus acre oil lease in Alaska, which could have led to greater energy independence.

The United States set a new record in gas prices over the weekend, which surged to a new high of $4.43, according to AAA. This is up from $4.08 in April and $3.00 in May of last year. The spiking energy costs are contributing to the highest inflation rates the country has seen in 40 years.

Premium gas now averages $5.07, up from $3.62 a year ago, while diesel over that period has jumped from $3.15 to $5.56 a gallon, CBS News reports.

During a press conference last week while discussing inflation and lowering costs, President Biden said, "We have no plan" to bring down energy prices, an issue that is negatively impacting millions of Americans. He then attempted to place blame on Republican legislators, energy companies, and Donald Trump.

RE: Gas Hike Updates
Has anyone checked the numbers in out countries and compare the increases to the US? Not talking total because they were always higher. I'm interested in seeing if the increases are close to the same. After taxes and fees increase should be about the same

UK is up 54% from a year ago.

France is up 5% from a year ago, but they just saw a drastic *decrease* from 2.31 to 1.95 per liter. They were at about 20% increase until the recent decrease.

Germany is up 15% from a year ago, but also just saw a decrease from 2.35 to 2.15 per liter. They were at 25% increase until the recent decrease.

Brazil is up 36% from a year ago.

India is up 8% from a year ago.

Cheapest gas in Western Europe appears to be Malta at $5.29. Germany is over $8. Belarus and Russia are much cheaper. We're really showing them.

RE: Gas Hike Updates
So for the most part gas prices in the US has risen more than other countries and the US produces more oil than most of them...

so where is the price increase coming from other than the cost of oil? From an article I read last week gas prices is out pacing the price of oil. I believe it said 58% of a gallon of gas is the cost of oil but the surging of gas prices was a lot higher than that 58%

RE: Gas Hike Updates
Read an article last night that put the average cost of installing a 240 volt charging station in a home is around $3500. Maybe I'm wrong, but I believe that will charge ONE car. Perhaps the real goal here is to make it impossible to own a bunch of cars for the family?

It's just not going to happen in states where it is not mandated by law, and it will never be mandated by law in Tennessee.

The gas states are going to eat the economies of the electric vehicle states.

Two Words:
GAS TAX.
Our country will collapse without the gas tax. Gas and the Lottery are the ONLY taxes in America that people who don't pay income taxes pay.

RE: Gas Hike Updates
Report, JP Morgan Predicts National Average Gasoline Prices Over $6 Gallon by August

Quote:Zero Hedge published a good article yesterday with some solid internal data showing a strong likelihood that national gasoline prices are likely to rise another 40% from current levels by mid-late summer. That would put the national average for a gallon of gasoline around $6.20 by August.

The data behind the prediction is solid and essentially boils down to the U.S. refineries not having the expanded capacity needed to keep up with an increased summer demand, particularly as they need to keep generating high volumes of diesel fuel due to current critical shortages.

The issues are created by the Biden administration and the regulatory stranglehold they put on the oil and gas industry last year. Obviously, all of this is a feature of the administration plan, not a flaw. The Green New Deal agenda necessarily requires that gasoline rise in price to $7/gal this year in order to force the change in profit dynamic for alternative fueled transportation.

Unfortunately, we the consumers will be the ones punished as the progressive, communist and far-left policy makers chase their climate change agenda. Cheap and cost-effective energy has to be made ‘not cheap’ and ‘not cost-effective’ in order to create the energy crisis their agenda requires.

Massive increases in gasoline prices are a feature, not a flaw.

Remember, Biden is disposable. The people behind Biden purposefully selected him in order to generate a kamikaze ‘fundamental change’ mission within a single 4-year presidential term. Getting crushed on the political outcomes is irrelevant, they just need to push the agenda fast enough, far enough, and destructive enough, so that all energy policies become irreversible.

The people behind the Biden administration energy program are trying to make the infrastructure needed to return to cheap and abundant energy independence, cost prohibitive.

(Via Zero Hedge) – […] According to JPM, a major driver in these counter-seasonal draws in gasoline is higher-than-normal exports. Preliminary EIA data suggest that gasoline exports, mostly to Mexico and the rest of Latin America, are averaging about 0.9 mbd since March, about 100 kbd above seasonal norms and nearly 300 kbd above summer rates.

The punchline: if exports persist at this elevated pace and refinery runs, already near the top of the range for reasonable utilization rates, fall within JPM’s expectations, gasoline inventories could continue to draw to levels well below 2008 lows and retail gasoline prices could climb to $6/gal or even higher, according to JPMorgan.

Some more details from the JPM forecast, starting with assumptions:

The bank expects US refinery runs to peak at 16.8 mbd in August, which, with an average gasoline yield of 49%, means that US refiners will produce about 8.2 mbd of gasoline. Assuming gasoline imports of 0.7 mbd and 10% ethanol blending, the bank expects total finished motor gasoline supply to average 9.9 mbd. If exports continue just below current levels—about 0.8 mbd—that leaves the US with just 9.1 mbd of gasoline supply available for consumption at peak demand this summer.

Because US gasoline demand is expected to average 9.7 mbd in August, the result is an average draw of 0.6 mbd from gasoline inventories in August, about 200 kbd tighter than normal.

Holding those assumptions on refinery yields and flows for gasoline from today through August, total US gasoline inventories could fall below 160 mb by the end of August, the lowest inventory level since the 1950s.

A regression analysis on the relationship between gasoline inventory changes and NYMEX gasoline prices “suggests that a drop of about 60 mb in gasoline stocks between now and August would result in a 37% increase in prices which translates to a $6.20/gal average US retail price”, according to Kaneva.
