LOL! It was a 2-for-1, we gave them a DB and WR for their DB. The grass is always greener! 04-cheers

Maybe we'll get a player to be named later in it.

RE: 2023 Football Recruiting
After a day of commits from the transfer portal, I’m not sure we added any impact players and certainly aren’t on the level of what we lost in the portal, will be interesting to see what they bring. We lost impact players on offense and so far only got help for the defense. Also waiting to see what QB they sign and if they get any transfer WRs or o-linemen.

CB Naim Muhammad (West Virginia)
LB Nick Giacalone (NMSU)
DT Javier Duran (Tarleton State)
DT Eric Weaver (VMI)
DB Dallas Craddieth (Iowa)
DB Lemuel Watley-Neely (Indiana)

Yeah seems like a lot of transfers that don't have much in the way of stats.

Right, so far all defense. Between expiration of eligibility and transferring, only ONE starter returns on offense.

No help for the offense that was fully depleted and needs plug and play experienced players, no QB, no WRs, no o-linemen, doesn’t seem like any were full-time starters last season (even the FCS guys), no players from Minnnesota committing or even visiting, curious who else commits.

Got a transfer QB Jaren Lewis from Kansas State that saw little time, previously chose KSU over FCS offers.

Paul Haynes always loaded up on DBs - had decent defense but no offense - ugh. DBs are great but not much help if you can't get a pass rush!

RE: 2023 Football Recruiting
During my many years there were more than a few Kent State teams that were much better defensively than offensively. Wouldn't it be something if they did a "180' and ended up like that?

But this new coach claimed he’s going to keep the same high octane offense in place; nice, but you can’t throw out a lineup of depth pieces and expect them to still sling it. Without a solid QB or any wideouts for that air attack, you still don’t have much of an o-line to get it done on the ground. Hate to keep beating this dead horse and hope I’m proven very wrong, but what went out the door from a 5-7 team was so much better than what backfilled them. Underwhelming to say the least.

He may try to keep the same high-octane, but will he have the horses to do it? So far it's not looking like it.

With a healthy Schlee we should have been no worse than 7-5, but you're correct don't see the horsepower to have high octane offense. What always impressed me about Lewis was they could run those plays and mix personnel so quickly without a stream of motion or substitution penalties that characterized past KSU teams.

Now this seems like an intriguing get. Seems like 3 years of eligibility left and had lots of offers from schools at a higher level coming out of HS.
