Lenix was the fastest Stark Countonian in the 100 last year and a heck of an all-around football player. He said that Lewis will let him play RB but I think he might be better in the defensive secondary. I saw him play several times.

Deshields intrigues me a bit. I saw him play. I think there's a CHANCE he could be pretty good.

I hope so, we’re going to need somebody to step up at QB. I fully expect and hope we dip into the portal for an experienced FBS QB that is looking for a place to play. I know we lost a ton at WR, but we’re committed to the same offense which will hopefully make stars of the next WRs we run out there. It should be a good landing spot for somebody looking to get on the field and put up numbers. Our top 2 WRs got big time offers, our 3rd WR is headed to West Virginia, we should have WRs in the portal just as interested in lighting it up.

True, a P5 QB with a year of eligibility remaing who sees little chance of starting should be champing at the bit to sign with Kent State. Another recruit I mentioned before who intrigues me is Freddie Lennix, Jr. from Massillon. He's posted a 10.58 in the 100 meters. Dri Archer in HS ran a 10.4. He's a cornerback but is also a good KR. He can also play RB, a position Lewis promised him, but maybe the new coach won't.

I have no doubt the new staff will get some good transfer portal signings and other signings. But the net loss from the portal and the de-commits will, I fear, have Coach Burns being yet another new coach starting from the bottom.

The WR position is going to be interesting. My one complaint with Lewis's offense was he didn't play enough WRs. So we'd have guys go from not being in the rotation one year to being a stud the next year. Made it very hard, as fans, to know if our backups could be expected to step in the next year. Walker is a great example. Caught 5 passes last year as he was behind Abram. Becomes the starter and woa, this guys an NFL caliber talent. So now that the top 3 are gone it's really hard to know what we have at the position.

I will say Trell Harris showed some potential when he was forced into action and I've always thought Floriea was under utilized. So who knows. Maybe we find out we have more talent at WR than we realize. It would help if there was any reporting on this team so we could know how guys are looking in practice.
