Three Man Weave did an article on bball budgets and covid. Pulled the data from there for New C-USA.



Hopefully the FCS adds can up the money to bball as well.

Unfortunately it's not that far off. Based on what I have been hearing and reading the ncaa is working on putting some rules in place for the NIL and transfer portal. We'll see how that goes.

I’d be shocked to see Sam increase the budget to get them out of the basement spending wise in basketball, at least not for a long time. Between the construction of the tennis complex, the track facility and the football stadium renovations, plus the added expenses of going FBS, money might be a bit tight for a while. Unfortunately our basketball program is severely neglected by the university. Administration doesn’t seem to care, which in turn rubs off onto student and alumni. This year we drew 5,300 fans for the entire conference regular season. It took our baseball team five home games to surpass that.

It’s really too bad. If the administrators and athletics dept. decided to put in a little cash here and there, it’d be a really good program. They’ll have to realize that CUSA isn’t the Southland. Hopefully sooner rather than later. Really sucks basketball takes a backseat here. We might be an outlier in that regard for a while. Hopefully things improve.

Now do who has most NIL money to pay players?

The fact there are 5 out of the 10 SBC schools below S Miss tells you a lot about what the old SBC though about basketball...

in CUSA they where dead last. The top old SBC school would have been 9th in CUSA 3.0
