Sustaining momentum is really difficult, as 2021 proved, but 2022 could also prove you're never that far away from a rally. All it takes is some close wins: FAU, Charlotte, MTSU and Louisiana Tech all play in at least five relative tossups -- games SP+ projects within 7.5 points one way or the other -- and FAU, Charlotte and MTSU each return experience and intriguing talent at the quarterback position. That certainly helps in close games.

(FIU and Rice are, shall we say, a bit further from a rally.)

That's reasonable. I have it all year cuz I have a two year old that watches Disney. Plus a lot of the Austin FC games are on ESPN+ too.

Speaking about Tech, it's all a toss-up IMO. With a new coach implementing a new system, there will be a big learning curve for players. I don't expect us to be at the top nor at the bottom but anything could happen. First years for head coaches usually don't tend to be too successful.

I was impressed with UTEP last year. Good regular season plus that bowl game performance against a very solid Fresno St team was impressive. I watched that game and your fan base was pumped! You brought a ton of fans to the New Mexico Bowl. I’m glad to see UTEP back up. Good fanbase.

Yes. CUSA always needed to have UTEP be a solid player. It's good to see that turnaround happening.

They project UTSA to repeat, but say that either WKU or UAB could give them a run for their money. UNT and then UTEP round out the top 5.
