RE: Attempt at 2022-2023 Roster
doo- I see you updated the list, thanks.

You can delete DeStefani, as on his twitter acount he's going to Linwood. Also he's been crossed off Heisenberg list.

I forgot about D-transfer Carter Berger. 4th round Fl Panthers, LH puck moving D. Put up some good points in BCHL, not much at U Conn., though looking at team stat, nobody put up a lot of points, which could be system related and/or lack of talent surrounding him.

A little off topic but per the Michigan board our typical H/H series in late October is still a go.

Miami Freshman G Kirk Laursen has transferred to Western. He's from Bloomfield Hills, MI. He didn't see any game action as a Freshman.

It's a good series for our program, great to hear it's continued.

With that said I wouldn't be surprised if UM 'finds' a reason to back out of the Lawson part of that if they lose the Yost contest-assuming Yost is played first.

It's what they do. 05-nono

No one can figure out what they're up to. I do know that the cancelled game for fabricated COVID reasons is part of their investigation, along with the more widely publicized issues of general improper COVID protocals within the program. He's currently employed without a contract (it expired a few weeks ago) and everyone is college athletics knows having a coach not under contract or on an expiring contract is suicidal when it comes to recruiting so they've got to get something figured out soon.

Are you referring to the 'cancelled' WMU game? I assumed that was related to COVID, is that not the case?

COVID was the excuse they gave, but it was very obviously a lie. They played MTU in between cancelling the game against us and when our game was supposed to happen.

Typical response from the crew at scUM, lose to WMU at Yost in October and then pull an excuse out of their fanny to avoid a rematch.

They don't like losing to 'directional schools', it's not good for their inflated egos and monumental feelings of self-importance.

Hope the folks in their program get forced to resign if it's proven they backed out unjustifiably, they need to own the humiliation. And Western's AD should seek monetary damages if it's proven they ducked us, our Athletic Department is not awash in 10's of Millions like UM's-they need to feel the pain. Or secure a few home-and-home series in other sports to help our bottom line.

Not sure there were any monetary losses since it was part of the GLI technically. I would imagine any payout we were supposed to get was paid regardless, but who knows

Too me the money is far less important than the fact that the game should be a forfeit, not a cancellation.

That's a good point, if it is proven they had no legitimate excuse to back out on the contest it should be awarded to Western as a forfeit. Something tangible needs to be done, schools like scUM think they can get away with this sort of thing because of who they are.

They aren’t investigating the cancelled Western game.

This is an internal Michigan investigation.

They are investigating claims that there was retaliation against Strauss Mann when he reported issues about the program, there was a toxic work environment for female staffers, & that players were told to lie about their COVID status prior to the 2021 tournament.

This was all in motion before the cancelled GLI game.

And the cancelled GLI game was subsequently added to the investigation. Never claimed the investigation started with the GLI game nor did I ever suggest it was anything other than an internal investigation.
