and hopefully he’ll get a shot at Penny & Memphis again?
F that dude… F his Dad…
They were the root cause of the division on last years squad. We squandered our opportunity for favorable NCAA seeding last season trying to pacify the posse & satisfy obligations. Obviously, we were better without him, and yet they have the gall to bad mouth our coaches & our program.
Adios & good riddance.
I don’t disagree. He probably cost us Landers and Camden (that one hurts, cause I think he’s going to be really good). I am simply pointing out areas he needs to improve. I’d welcome the opportunity to play against him—our defense would eat his lunch.

The thing about this whole fiasco that bothers me the most is that cph destroyed this year's team for a kid with no character and few college skills. He benched the previous years starters and blamed them for this punks failures. Penny has a long way to go. I just hope he gets a little more time to develop because so far he has demonstrated very little of that.
Wtf are you talking about?
Okay I get it. Everybody including me is a fan of cph. No shame in that. Some fans think Penny is a finished product and that he is already a great coach. I don't believe that. I believe he is a good coach. He is a great recruiter, and his teams have improved late in each season. A great coach comes out at the first of the season with a disciplined savvy team. When cph starts doing this there will be much less drama and a better overall result. He had that opportunity this past season, but he blew it. Penny is smart, he learns, I just hope he gets enough time to learn enough to be the coach he is becoming. Like Tommy West said when he was fired at Clemson, "I am a lot better coach now than when you hired me."
Nobody is saying Penny is a great coach.
You say he destroyed the team.

I think Penny is a great guy which translates into being a great recruiter. I think he’s very smart, and strategically, a more gifted bench coach than he gets credit. His problem is he is too nice… too much of a pleaser… and it usually results in toxic rosters. Penny usually tightens things up as the season progresses but by then the team is usually fighting for its life. Penny’s achilles heel is leadership.

But his teams seem to have “gotten it together “ sooner each year. That demonstrates growth in Penny as a coach.

Disappointed in Bates. I thought he was going to be something special. Maybe he still will be if he matures and learns how to do things the right way. But it seemed Penny did everything but let him fly the team plane in the early part of the season and this is how Bates does him?

I don't think he's playing. Smart people don't have to tell you they are smart. Based on his posts he reveals that he is not.
it's like those people with a BS from Stanford that leave their diplomas out on the coffee table when they have a party....
everyone thought he was a dork too. lol

I don’t think nice guys finish last… I think some struggle in leadership positions. Penny, in my opinion, is a pleaser, which makes him a fantastic recruiter & ambassador for the university, but I think managing personalities pushes him out of his comfort zone, & creates a leadership vacuum on the bench. We start each season struggling to meet expectation, & don’t turn things around until the situation dictates it. Hell, we were playing 11-12 guys last year even though it was obvious were were better with a shorter bench. Part of that is trying to keep everyone happy… & it almost never works. The most encouraging sign Ive seen from him lately to make me think he’s learning is pushing Tyler, Landers & Emoni out of the door. I have no idea what happened but I think it signals his understanding of needing to regain control of his team… “either get on board or get the f out”. Hopefully that carries over to next season.

I believe he is one of those Old Mrs fans that went to Memphis.

Emoni Bates and other what ifs Memphis basketball, Penny Hardaway might be facing
When asked about it, opinions from sources around the Tigers' program have been mixed. Some feel it makes a lot of sense. Some do not. Some believe it could work but only if both sides can agree on a path forward that best sets Bates up for success.
The Commercial Appeal also spoke with a source with very close ties to Bates about the potential of a reunion.
"Great question. I'm not sure. That's Emoni's call," the source said. "His focus right now is getting stronger and taking his time to make the best decision for him. Definitely can't rule anything out. Until a decision is made, anything is possible."

Tyler and Lester’s departure leaves more room and attempts for E$......also playing alongside Kendrick will be the best situation for his development......Get here this summer and become a BEAST kid.....
Even better is E$ sandwiched between Kendrick and Emmanuel Akot
