Damn.. came up short

Had big leads on CMU twice in the tournament and couldn't hold on. It was the offense that kept the Rockets in the games, but the MAC's third best pitching staff (by ERA) didn't perform.

4.65 ERA on the season before the MAC Tournament. 8.77 ERA in the MAC Tournament.

UT's ERA vs. CMU, Ohio, Ball St in the regular season was 5.80.

Third time this season UT has lost game against CMU where they led 6-1

The sign of a good but certainly not championship level program. CMU deserved to go to the College BB playoffs. BB is solid but not outstanding. Get this program to achieve against higher expectations and we can start to see them matter. Do NOT break ground on the BB/SB complex based on this one good season!

Had a WHIP over 2, more BB/HBP than SOs, and allowed 15 runs in 19 innings pitched last year...hopefully he can get those control issues figured out, or maybe the drop in bat talent will help a bit.
