Schedule every strong team that will play us.

Losing to Georgia and Mississippi (tribute to Coach X) this year hurt. But I'm still glad we played them. Just have to play better.

Schedule them, beat them!

Agreed...

Gotta take the Gonzaga route, especially after next year when we lose top teams and gain bottom teams.

Recent years, UNT has been better than Cincy. And UAB is historically better than UCF. I wouldn't call either of those top teams.
Problem is Sampson's Houston is gone - THE top team - and we are adding some anchors in the other 4 programs.

Perception effects rankings so much, despite the BS that is fed regarding rankings and ranking systems. Losing teams like Houston and Cincy hurts, badly. UAB and UNT are playing decent ball, but they don't move the needle. Beating them doesn't look good on a resume. Have to add solid OOC schools.

Side note: How was Houston so highly ranked last year? Glad they were. But my point is rankings are mostly a sham.

Our conference is likely a 1-bid conference next year.

NET, with all it's flaws, it one of the most important rankings - and it's not all perception-based. Cincy finished the year 96. UAB & UNT finished 49 & 55. Now I'd bet on Cincy getting better, but we've been saying that for a few years. But point being, those (along with - UCF) won't be what hurts. What hurts are the rest - swapping Houston for the other 4.

The conference doesn't change next year. And when it does, I bet we're still a multi-bid league more than we are a 1-bid (Memphis, SMU, Wichita, UAB.

BTW, Houston finished the year #2 in NET and KenPom. Unbelievable.

One of my granddaughters spent two years at A&M. Her roommate was Chad Morris's daughter. We have been to College Station several times. If you want to take an interesting road trip, go to our game there. My observation of College Station is that it is a city built around a university to better serve it. Population 114,000. It has nice hotels and restaurants. You can check them out on Trip Advisor. A&M is also the location of the George Bush (elder one) Presidential Library and Museum. FYI, Morris has moved on and is now the head football coach at ALLEN HIGH SCHOOL in the North Dallas suburb with the big $72 million football stadium.
