This thread raises a couple of interesting and very true corollaries:

1. Only children are preoccupied with talking about what adults do. Adults are too busy working to provide to obsess over what their age allegedly bestows upon them. Therefore only a child would even bother to say an adult was back in charge.

2. Pretenders spend their lives trying to get in front of groups of people so they can look like leaders and they feel superior to those they claim to lead. Real leaders initiate the action required to get things done and don't notice those following until the job is done and they thank them for their help. They see themselves as one of the team.

Observation: Since High School people who are not competent, liked, or efficient, are given roles which the group finds to be superficial and nonproductive. The first of these is class president. Sadly it makes the little whelps feel important so they spend the rest of their time on earth seeking other do nothing jobs with titles until one day they, due mostly to name recognition and the fact they sell themselves cheaply for the notoriety, land a job that counts. Then suddenly they sell the rest of us, whom they hate for knowing their ineffectiveness and insecurity, out. This is what politics has become. We no longer reward self directed competent problem solvers with leadership. Instead we have a cottage industry of lackeys being procured as yes men.

Leadership is no longer compared to a dairy where the cream rises to the top, but to a pond which is a small body of water with no fresh sources and where the scum rises.
