Athletic Department Garage Sale
I heard from a friend that went that it was totally picked over right from the start.

Little angry because he came into town for it.

Should we be surprised that this would happen? I have been to previous ones and gotten some nice stuff that i still have. Disappointing.

Any other experiences?

Too bad it was during the week

From previous experience...You must arrive early to get a decent selection. I arrived at 11:30 and the gate to the concourse was already open... Walked right in. I got a great selection of football and basketball jerseys and two football helmets. It was the first year for the helmets (extremely limited) and they sold out in less than 30 minutes. I would love to see this become an annual tradition. I think the last one was at least 3 years ago??

Hopefully the large selection of football uniforms mean we might be seeing some new ones this year...

Tons of football and basketball jerseys were still there at about 2:30 when I was up there...heard they had next to no "normal" apparel even at the start, and none for normal people (tons of 4XL shirts) regardless of time.

Don't think they can make it annual, as most of the time this coincides with either apparel contract lapses or jersey recycling. Probably a 2-3 year process, but a cool one at that. Getting game football jerseys at $50 and basketball jerseys at $25 is a solid deal for sure.

Several years back I got a real nice jacket. Having it during the week from noon to 4 is just silly

Got there at 12:15 and it was a zoo! Kind of fun going through it all. Ditto on the size issue especially with shoes...Had to expect that not many rockets have size 8.5...and that is a good thing! One thing I learned...take CASH! 2 lines of 75 people for credit cards...2 lines for cash with NO ONE in them. We had cash by pure chance. Crazy for sure. I am guessing that it will continue to be 2-3 years so that it can be an event.

Imagine going to an event labeled a “garage sale” and then proceeding to complain about selection. Goodness.
