Does the CSN decide to start the facebook style censorship?

If I had to guess, I'd say this thread wasn't the trigger. I suspect it was some other post or posts from the last several days. He may have had warnings prior to that, meaning he would have essentially been on probation. Considering that this isn't the first time he was banned from this forum he may have been on a short fuse with the mods. Maybe he just reached strike three.

SEC -16

Then they can allow ND, Ohio State, Penn State, and USC to play and be done with the rest.

20 ought to be enough for everyone - right.

You could have 4 divisions:

SEC West - USC, Texas, OU, TAMU, Arkansas
SEC North - Ohio State, Penn State, Mizzou, Kentucky, ND
SEC East - SC, Georgia, Florida, Auburn, Tennessee
SEC South - Alabama, LSU, Ole Miss, MSU, Vandy

That covers it all. 04-cheers

yes in the sense that these teams should leave and go full minor league. Let everyone else remain under AMATEUR rules. NIL can exist with regulation. Scholarship limits remain in place. The top high schoolers go into the minor league where they are paid. I think within ten years you'd actually be looking at reduced revenue at the top level. Once you remove the veil of amateurism, whats left is a poor imitation of the NFL/NBA.

Everyone needs to get this through their heads: there's NO choice. There's NO regulation of NIL and, in fact, the Supreme Court has made is very clear that it's straight up illegal. There's NO amateurism anymore if you want to sponsor college sports. There's no "opting out" or choosing a different path because that different path has been judged to be straight up illegal. The only choices are to (1) play the new game or (2) drop sports entirely. There's no in-between.

I'm beginning to think that most schools should elect option 2 and shut down all their athletic programs. I doubt they will, but I think they should. Too many schools will make the mistake of not considering their investments in facilities as sunk costs, not worth keeping open in the face of ever-worsening budget hemorrhages.

If you take the 28 teams from the B10 and SEC and add Notre Dame, Clemson, FSU and USC that is 32. As much as people want it nobody is getting kicked out of the B10 or SEC.

Is ESPN willing to pay Indiana and Purdue if ND is included in the 28 or 32? Why pay Mississippi and Mississippi State if you've got LSU and Bama.

I would think that they would considering that Indiana and Purdue offer/used to offer great basketball.

As for Ole Miss and Mississippi State, ever consider that they serve a niche market that Alabama and LSU might not serve??

I don't know anything about the banning, but he was obnoxious and condescending, insulted people without provocation or reason, and often was promoting this weird revisionist history he had regarding the ACC's creation. No loss IMO.

EDIT:

First, Nerdlinger there was nothing wrong with your post here it was merely the last one when the thread was closed.

Second, Ken D is almost spot on as to the reason which was not in this thread or in the CS/CR main board.

Third, It is strictly forbidden to publicly copy anyone's PM as in PM's sometimes posters are revealing personal data which may be used to Dox someone. That's not the case in my PM to jrj but he did start a troll thread, parody though it was. The corresponding thread was also closed. His publishing of any PM is an AUP violation and merits banning. To publish a any mods PM is strictly forbidden, not because I flatly stated to the poster why the thread was objectionable and the attempt should not be duplicated again, but because many times mods try to settle disputes and in the exchanges candor and privacy are essential. jrj didn't receive any formal % warning from me it was just a verbal. BTW he never responded to my PM.

Fourth, threads on this forum need to be substantive, or informative, and we need to bear in mind that all conferences and schools' posters post in CS/CR and we have a much smaller tolerance for anything which can be deemed insulting, even if misconstrued. It is something which provokes needless flame wars between posters and can make threads unreadable.

We all have some regional bias but when you go out of your way to denigrate one you've crossed the line for the CS/CR board.

Fifth, speculative threads have become a problem. If it is reasonable speculation based on unfolding events okay. "What if" threads have only gotten more bizarre and now some things which are speculated about amount to trolling.

If you have any questions PM me. I'll tell you what I think and why, unless it falls under confidentiality. JR
