I was wondering why the Big 12 meeting is in Russelville, AR.
Upper Iowa to the Big 12!
Don't be coy. We all know who the new Big 12 member is. The Big 12 wants them so much that the Big 12 went to them to hold this meeting.

The Big 12 has a meeting scheduled for May 2. Any idea how they will vote on keeping/scrapping divisions and/or alignment if they keep divisions?
Hot tip (don't tell anyone),
The Big 12 has scheduled a press conference for May 3rd. They will announce their decision to add 8 teams and become the nation's first 20-team conference. Representatives of the 8 new Big 12 schools will give confirmatory statements at the press conference These changes will take effect on July 1, 2022.
My understanding is that they will take two from each of the other P4 conferences.
ACC:
FSU travel partner for UCF.
Lousville travel partner for Cincinnati
SEC:
Kentucky travel partner for West Virginia
Missouri border war restart.
B1G:
Iowa travel partner for Iowa State
Nebraska travel partner for K-State.
P12:
Utah travel partner for BYU
Colorado travel partner for Texas Tech
Remaining travel partners:
OSU-TCU
Baylor-Houston
It is not clear whether Villanova and Gonzaga will join as basketball only.

Anybody who believes this is more gullible than anyone I can think of. Can you imagine anyone leaving the B1G or the SEC for a boondoggle like this? I doubt if anyone would leave the ACC or the P12 for this either, much less FSU or Utah. What are you smoking?

Maybe they are trying to figure out if they will have 10, 14, 12, or 14 schools in 2023.
From a branding standpoint, the Big 12 should stand pat at 12.
The Big 12 metrics will be even better replacing UT/OU with BYU/UCF/UC/UH. All of those programs are blowing up in recruiting right now (of course it didn't hurt that they are all recruiting some of the richest areas).

Do the three AAC call-ups participate?
I don't think the AAC call-ups can participate, maybe I'm wrong.
Yes I think UT and OU reps will be there to show they're still committed.... until their not.... LOL
They can, the ADs for the new schools are going to be there. It was announced that it is the secomd time that all of the officials for the first Big 12 officially are meeting.
"The athletic directors of incoming members BYU, Cincinnati, Houston and UCF will attend the three-day session, meeting with commissioner Bob Bowlsby and their new peers in-person for just the second time since the Big 12 expanded last September"
Inside the Big 12’s discussions of new divisions: Geography, Texas-Oklahoma and other key issues loom
This is the most important excerpt from the article
For starters, Oklahoma and Texas still have not given notice for an early SEC exit, so the Big 12 continues to operate under the assumption this will be a 14-team conference in 2023 and 2024. Their continued presence is perhaps the most interesting issue in devising these division models
Texas and OU need to give their two year notice by July to exit in 2025. Not sure what they are waiting for. I would have thought they would have given notice the day the SEC invited them to the conference.

They won't have to give it until July 2023. If they give it sooner then that then they are leaving while still bound to the GORs. So if they had given it last year they would have been required to leave with 2 years left on the GORs and if they do it this year there will be one year left on the GORs. The minute they give it the lock starts ticking.

RE: Big 12 meetings
I can also see them pushing out the decision on football divisions. It is not clear cut how to split them up, which favors a division -less approach, if the ncaa allows it.
If forced to go with divisions, the pieces don't quite fit. Here are some guesses have for some basic guidelines
1.WV, Cincinnati, UCF would like to be together
2. ISU, Kan, KSU would like to be together.
3. All teams would like to .play some games in Texas
4. Eastern time zone teams would like to avoid too many games in the Mountain time zone and vice versa.
Given those guidelines...
West
BYU, ISU, Kan, KSU, OSU, TT (Ok)
East
WV, Cinci, UCF, Hou, Bay, TCU (Tex)
But like I stated at first, this is not a perfect setup, and probably a division-less setup would be better.
