I'd say, "Don't be that guy..." but I'm guessing that you are "that guy." I'd also say "Stay classy..." but again, I'm guessing that's not in your repertoire.

Having lived through the disintegration of the Big East, all I can say is--if these rumors are true, and I'm guessing they are--I hope that 2022-23 is a great season all-around and when the time comes, I'll say "Goodbye" with sincere thanks for what the AAC has given us. I bore no ill-will to CUSA when UC left back in 2003 and I will bear the AAC no ill-will when we leave either.

My lord quit your virtue signaling take down your Ukrainian flag filter off your Facebook next to your “staying home saves lives” and “Vaxxed” posts and live a little you putz.

mods: can you ban this guy, or at least put him in a lengthy timeout? he really adds nothing to this board, other than to embarrass himself and real uc fans.

Eh, I don't think the nB12 will be the "promised land". Better than the AAC? Sure.

But a real Power league? No. Not enough brand value. So basically a tweener-league.

So a step in the right direction, but not quite there yet.

But good luck to you guys.

Power can be perception. Some base it on performance. Others like you, only care about the school brand and not performance. However, the term "tweener", was a term very much developed based on performance. A term you use yourself when referring to AAC sagarin rankings from years past. Try again buddy 07-coffee3

The Big 12 will be an ACC/PAC 12 style power conference, not a Big 10/SEC style power conference.

Try again? I think the nB12 will be a power on the court. Maybe on the field, but a tweener where it matters most, brand value.

So you made a new definition of tweener? Tweener brand value, this is a new one for you. Way to pivot lol

Not really it has ALWAYS been about brand value, which was why even when WV in the Big East was winning BCS Bowl games, the league still lost the tie in to the OB and that was the hand writing on the wall that the league could lose BCS Access in next contract. For the Big12 the next big question is can they sign one of the NY6 bowls for next bowl contracts that’s coming up in 2026, if they can’t tie in their champion to one of those bowls then you will see them lose money in next CFP Contract.

Yes, the old Big East is a great example. The pre-2012 Big East performed like a true AQ/Power on the court and despite what many thought, on the football field as well.

But brand-wise, it was regarded in a much lesser light, as not being worthy of AQ status, with the results you describe. It was a brand-value "tweener".

Regarding football, the nB12 seems to have the same problem the old Big East had - the lack of blue blood brand value flagships. The two they had are leaving.

People forget that in those last 8 years that the Big East had after Miami, VTech and BC left.
The league had 2 NCAA basketball champions and a 5-3 record in BCS games
And they still lost the OB slot for their champ and no other BCS bowl extended an offer.

It had nothing to do with football record in those big bowls nor NCAA basketball championships

It had to do with losing the big name brands that the Big Bowls want. Who is that in the new Big12?

Big 12 basketball will be THE BEST CONFERENCE IN COLLEGE BASKETBALL and better than pac 12 And ACC in football. Big 12 will be better than Big 10 in football in a few years and I am talking about performance What does the big 10 have, PEdophile U? Purdont cheesedpuche u? MI will suck again. I give u OSU but they will start to slide back to the pack now that dirty urban is gone. The SEC is king of football and the big 10 ain’t even close
