Search the internet. There's examples all over tik tok of teachers discussing it with their classes and teachers explaining how they bring it up to their grade school students.

I have something that might shock you. Not everything on the internet is true. And some things on the internet are intentionally created to mislead you into playing on all of our biases.

So these videos of teachers in their classrooms is CGI or something? Right.

Are you referring to the bill banning sexual teaching to kindergartners in Florida?? Do you really think that's "homophobic"? What's the problem with sticking to teaching K students the basics of language, literacy, thinking and cognitive skills.
It's not "sexual teaching" to acknowledge a student has a gay or lesbian parent. It's not "sexual teaching" to talk to a student if they are struggling with their sexuality and have nobody in their life to talk to. You're making it impossible for teachers to be good teachers.

LGBTQ kids already have it tough enough. Now you're making it illegal for anyone to help them.

Yes, the bill is extremely homophobic. "Sexual teaching" and "grooming" are just the latest buzzwords created to justify hate in this country towards people who are not white, straight, & Christian.

"You're making it impossible for teachers to be good teachers." LOL

like I said stick to teaching the basics of language, literacy, thinking and cognitive skills and any teacher can be good. My kids teachers have never mentioned sexuality once in elementary school. Some of the best teachers I've ever come across.
I agree about sexuality. Acknowledging a kid has gay parents isn't discussing sexuality. It's treating that kid like a normal human being and allowing him to talk about his family. Banning a kid’s and teacher's ability do this make a teacher's job tougher.

I'm assuming your kid's teachers are allowed to talk about your kid's parents because they aren't gay or lesbian. Why can't all kids be treated like your kids?

Why would teachers be talking about any parents in the classroom? Weird...

No. It isn't CGI.

But when using Tik Tok as a reference to create public policy you need to be damned sure that the people are actually teachers and students in a real life classroom. Looking real is precisely how you play on people's biases. Editing a video in a manner to lead the viewer to a false conclusion is exactly what the goal of any political operative (Dem or Repub).

Ron DeSantis, like most members of his party these days, only cares about one thing: To out-MAGA everyone else and position himself as the heir apparent to the Trump throne.

I doubt DeSantis really loses sleep at night over anything he says he rails against. What he accomplishes is throwing red meat to a radicalized Base and gaining national attention.

It applies to 5 through 9 year olds. That goes well beyond kindergarten. If a kid has two Moms or two Dads, any discussion is banned because its an LGBTQ issue. So, a kid with LGBTQ parents is being taught it is wrong to talk about his/her parents.

Have you read the bill? I have. It says you can't lead a classroom lesson about gender identity or sexual orientation in grades k-3. Do you really want a teacher to make a lesson plan explaining why Billy has two mommies? I'm sure Billy would be totally comfortable with that. Is that really your priority?
It doesn't say kids can't talk about it with each other or with a teacher. It says you cannot have a classroom lesson about it until 4th grade.

Not just that kid, the other kids learn it is wrong too - simply by not being able to discuss it. And that is the point of this legislation.

Good thing we live in a democracy. Desantis poll numbers continue to rise as Biden's plummet.

Good thing we live in a democracy. Desantis poll numbers continue to rise as Biden's plummet.

I remember back to a sex Ed session in Grandville in 1963. They taught sex Ed starting in the junior year in High School. A doctor came in and ran through a basic explanation of human reproduction. When finished he asked for questions. The local Dutch kid raised his hand and in a soft voice said, “is it true you can have sex with a sheep?”. The doctor said, “we’re not going to talk about that right now.” Then one of the farm boys said, “I prefer a smooth tongue calf.” The doctor then sent us back to regular classes. So that right there is an example of limiting discussion about sex. So there is precedent.

Poor Hoadley. His sexual “victims” are hardest hit.

If you don’t know what that refers to… sorry our poor media stinks.

Probably means he’s a “groomer”. He advocates for LGBTQ people. Now hateful bigots are attempting to rewrite reality and pretend like LGBTQ people or others who help LGBTQ people are actually evil. The media you need to be listening to is QAnon & MAGA media. They are the ones telling us the “truth” on which people we need to hate.

Yes, you clearly own a monopoly on principles. However, about curiosity though…

Question. If, say, a non-left-wing trustee had called women “breeders” back in 2005, how many Handmaid’s Tale references would we see? What’s the over/under on that?

Or writing about toddlers wearing thongs? If Dennie Hastert had… wait, scratch that one.

The individuals of any gender you managed to bed in your time at WMU: have you ever described them as “victims?”

Just questions about what conduct we can reasonably expect from a leader of our institution of higher learning…

I’ll help. Go Google “hoadley New York Post,” and that may help.

So the fact that they quoted HIS BLOG entries where he talked about doing meth and referred to women as breeders (odd for someone with a women's studies degree) and loves unprotected sex...is all good with you for someone to be on WMU's board. Gotcha.
