RE: Spring Game this Friday at 700PM
My take on last nights scrimmage …
#1 Defense looked solid …. Played pretty vanilla in scheme, but were solid in they’re reads and positioning … Played a lot of cover 2 zone, so DB’s were still 5 - 10 yds off the receiver …. not going to be as deep as in previous year … I may be wrong but I think all of the scoring drives was against the #2 and #3 defensive guys .. was impressed with the transfer LB’s … they flew to the ball … not exciting, but sound
Seth had most of his snaps against the #1’s, so it was tough on him. Grant had most of his success against the #2’s … Tevin showed great arm strength on the deep ball in limited action … Skill players are good news, bad news …. Good news is they all performed very soundly … Bad news is they all performed very soundly … We have depth at RB, WR, and TE… all look very interchangeable …. No one really “stood out” imo
Hopeful for another good season of Tiger football

Henigan is BOH
Whoever doesn't get the starting job will be BOH. I hope it is Henigan, he has STAR written all over him. But I guess we will see.

I wonder if the BOH crowd are the same ones that predicted Grant would be gone...
Or Brandon Thomas....
Or countless others that they have some type of insight that nobody, including the players themselves, has.

Backup qb's transfer these days.
It is what it is.
I suspect we will lose a qb before opening day.
CRS will play it close to the vest like Norvell did with Brady that first year.
But sooner or later, one of these guys will hit the portal.

Some people on here are working with faulty crystal balls.

If any leaves it will more than likely be Grant. Seth is the obvious front runner. Tevin Carter looked good on the deep ball(effortless) but he needs a year to work on mechanics, footwork, touch on short passes and just to mature and learn the playbook. Not saying Grant can’t win the job but he needs to get on film if he wants to go to the next level. Good thing is the guys all seem to really want each other to do well. And don’t forget, we have JC French coming in the fall. He can sling it, too.

Tempo isn’t speeding things up. It’s controlling the tempo and going fast when necessary and slowing down to your advantage.

I love it. Go with the leather helmets.
Removing the facemask on helmets will cut down on targeting.
And bring back knee and thigh pads create a revolution in football.

Actually, I think that would increase them. These days kids are taught to "lead with the facemask" to avoid being accused of "leading with the crown". I don't know about you, but if my facemask is gone, imma lead with the crown.

Understand completely .... I guess I would like us to use our depth to keep things moving and prevent situational substitution by the opposing defenses .... In some cases that is more of a "hurry up" offensive philosophy .... We can run a lot of different formations / sets and offensive styles with the same personnel for 2 to 3 plays, then the defense can react to with their same personnel .... again, just IMO ... I always liked that it seemed the Tigers controlled the game with our offense under both Fuente and Norvell, more so than now ...
