RE: 2022 Track and Field Update
Is Grace Forbes going to run anymore this spring? I saw she ran one 1500 at A&M - and while she got second with a time that a lot of people would be thrilled with, it was slower than her best times from last year. So I'm assuming she's still not 100 percent. And then the high jumper from New Zealand must be hurt?

Without those two, it looks like the two throwers and then perhaps a few others (Perez in discus, Balandran in 800, and Okafor in TJ - maybe 1 or 2 I'm missing?) will be our best bets at conference. But that's not going to amount for a ton of points compared to past years.

Comparatively speaking, the men seem to be having a better outdoor season than the women.

RE: 2022 Track and Field Update
Grace is back...she will be running the 10,000 at the Penn Relays on Thursday night and then teaming with sisters Maddie and Maggie along with Taigen to run the 4x800 on Saturday at Penn. She will be leaving early in the week for Philadelphia and she wanted to finish up some classwork over the weekend.

Jodie will be back in time for the high jump at the C-USA meet...she's just nrusing a minor injury (as I understand).

There were some really good performances by men and women this weekend...looking for to the C-USA meet at UTSA.

RE: 2022 Track and Field Update
Interesting Note on the Track meet:

There are two men who have both run under 10.00 seconds for the 100M and jumped over 28 feet in the long jump...Carl Lewis and Kareem Street-Thompson...both were in attendance at the meet.

RE: 2022 Track and Field Update
WRC, I really thank you for your dedication and diligence in posting the T&F information all these years. I ran track in high school and wasn't very good, but I love the sport and follow it, particularly the Rice Men and Women. Your continued postings are informative and keep me interested in the scholar/athletes participating and the programs in general.

THANK YOU!

Somewhat overlooked is that Lourdes, with the 34:49.32, moved up to #8 on the all-time Rice list in the 10,000 meters.
