NAIA Player of the Year Zach Wrightsil signs with Marquette, MVP Burns with Ole Miss
and also, teammate Myles Burns signs with Ole Miss.

Both are using their COVID year eligibility to extend their college careers another year. Both were academic seniors when they won the NAIA national tournament in March with Loyola of New Orleans.

It will be interesting to see how they fare. Both are very talented although slightly undersized for their positions according to D1 standards. Wrightsil (6'7") was listed as a G/F but I see him mostly as a forward. That could change of course at Marquette. Burns (6'6") was also listed as a G/F, but is not a 3 point threat.

We are excited to welcome Wrightsil to the MU Family. Not sure what is production will be, but his history of winning and championship pedigree will be a great addition to what Shaka is attempting to build.

On the women's side, two time NAIA Player of the Year Stephanie Soares signs with Iowa State:

Soares had P5 interest as a high school senior, but her whole family is loyal to The Master's University in Santa Clarita, CA, and she went there. She is likely a future Olympian with the Brazil team. Technically, she will be a red shirt senior since she was injured for 2020-21, no COVID year needed.

On paper, this is an outstanding addition for Marquette. Congrats to MU.
