Good question. This was a hug surprise. Manning has coaching experience but wasn’t very successful as a head coach. These 3 guys played under Denny Crum, Larry Brown & Coach K. They have coached under Coach K, Calipari & Bill Self. They know what it takes to win championships & make it to the NBA. Locally it is being called a “home run”. How will it all translate to the court?

RE: Danny Manning
Bigger than the Danny Manning hire (which I know has some "blah" to it given Danny's time at Wake, but I think it's inspired given Danny's proven ability to develop big men) is the Director of Basketball Operations hire ....

Justin Perez.

His resume --

-- Played at American
-- Graduating from Columbia Law School this year
-- Interned for the Knicks
-- His family helped found RocNation, Jay Z's media agency

His background in basketball, plus his law degree, plus his connections through RocNation, gives him a unique ability to impact/navigate through NIL and agent issues for U of L.

THIS IS HUGE, and it is where college basketball is going.

Kenny Payne ain't playing around. 04-cheers

Agreed. Having an upper hand in NIL’s will only enhance the Payne recruiting machine.
