Local girl; xfer from MTSU; glad to see the ladies add some local flavor.

Payne is a four-time ASWA all-state player and a two-time Super 5 recipient. She also earned the distinction of Class 7A Player of the Year following a senior season[2021] that saw her average 24.1 points per game to go with an average of 7.4 rebounds.

Coming from Seattle and Ireland, I have great pity for her facing summer in Alabama.

I’m so pumped about next season. We’ll certainly miss Zakyia Weathersby (first team All-CUSA), but the recruits look like they’re going to add some facets to our game we haven’t had in a while.

RE: New WBB Commit
Coach Norton described our two early signees (Desiree Ware and Ashton Elley) as having lockdown defense, among other skills. We need that. Also, Ware and Denim DeShields are point guards so maybe Margaret Whitley won’t have to spend so much energy bringing the ball up the court. It’d be nice to have her concentrated at shooting guard again.

McGhee is powerful but she must have watched the men's front court too much. she fouls way too much but she is a freshman so her upside potential is there.

I saw a handful of games in person. I was highly impressed with Klazcek for being a freshman. Plays smart, can dribble drive somewhat, has a nice release.....hope she keeps growing her game....

Found this out yesterday… for you baseball fans… the point guard is the daughter of Delino Deshields who played for a few ML team and is now the 3rd base coach for the Reds…

I remember him and probably have some of his cards in my storage bin.

Randy is building a team to get over the hump. He is close.
