Yes, I've seen at least Le Moyne mentioned for the MAAC, but why would the MAAC need to rummage through D2 when it has the NEC?
Maybe the NEC football schools said no, so that leaves FDU and SF(NY) vs LeMoyne and they think LeMoyne has more potential?
Seems a bit shortsighted to not move from the NEC to the MAAC simply because of FB, especially since they have an option now in the Big South/OVC. I recall reading (on this board, most likely) about Wagner declining a MAAC invite for this reason, though that may have just been an excuse for not being invited.
I wonder if Matt could find out if Wagner was ever actually invited.

Robert Morris would be a power move.
Not looking for random conjecture, if that's what this is. No need to add to the baseless rumor pile.
Its a good idea since the Horizon is faltering.

(04-12-2022 04:54 PM)Nerdlinger Wrote: So there are a lot of names being tossed around on this board for movement to and from the NEC, MAAC, and AEC. So far, we've only seen these announced:
- Hartford from AEC to D3 conference TBD
- Monmouth from MAAC to CAA
- Stony Brook from AEC to CAA
- Bryant from NEC to AEC (FB to Big South)
- Stonehill NE10 (D2) to NEC
Other moves I've seen floated on this board outside of DavidSt's ramblings:
- Fairfield from MAAC to CAA
- Mount St. Mary's from NEC to MAAC (mentioned in this thread, of course)
- Quinnipiac from MAAC to AEC
- Sacred Heart (NFB) from NEC to AEC (or MAAC?)
- Wagner (NFB) from NEC to MAAC
- Bentley from NE10 (D2) to NEC
- Le Moyne from NE10 (D2) to NEC
- Mercyhurst from PSAC (D2) to NEC
- New Haven from NE10 (D2) to NEC
I saw SNHU somewhere but am highly skeptical about their being called up, given their reputation (deserved or not) as a diploma mill.
To Matt Brown or anyone else actually in the know (not DavidSt), which of these are likeliest to take place?
I think I was the one who reported Mount St.Mary's to the MAAC. MAAC officials were on campus a few days ago and I believe that will be wrapped up in the near future.
I've had a few ADs tell me that Wagner is highly unlikely to leave (budget, I'm told, was a huge factor), and folks in the NEC also expect Sacred Heart to stick around.
I don't think I know enough right now to handicap how likely Bentley, Le Moyne or Mercyhurst would be. I do know that New Haven's standing within the NEC has soured significantly over the last few weeks.

IIRC somebody here mentioned Fairfield considered the CAA, but decided they couldn't support the increased cost required to be competitive.
