Ambridge: WMBA (1460 AM)
Beaver Falls: WBVP (1230 AM)
Bedford: WBFD (1310 AM)
Harrisburg: WTKT (1460 AM)
Indiana: WCCS (1160 AM & 101.1 FM)
Johnstown: WCRO (1230 AM)
Meyersdale/Somerset: WQZS (93.3 FM)
Pittsburgh: KDKA (93.7 FM)
Uniontown/Meyersdale: WMBS (590 AM & 101.1 FM)
Youngstown: WLLF (790 AM & 96.7 FM)
Sirius XM

Would love to get some UC coverage in the middle & northern parts of the state. For years, UofL broadcasted in Cincy. This was even pre-ACC. Love to see this even in NKY and Eastern IN.

So many good ideas here - including on p1
Radio, caravan, make it an event, autographs, etc. Has anyone sent any of these suggestions to the athletic department?

I would agree that these need to be implemented. The radio affiliates may not be necessary as anyone with a smartphone can listen for free on iHeartRadio. I believe UofL pays for the time in Cincinnati. If that's what it would take the money would be better spent in other areas. I'm all for a caravan though, bring it up my way near Cleveland/Akron. UC is growing in popularity up here, feels like a lot more young people are choosing UC since I moved up here in 2016.

Both UK & UL have their football & basketball games on local stations here in Cincinnati. It sucks when you can't find a local game on the radio, but you can always find the UK/UL broadcast.

I hate it when the Reds preempt UC games on WLW a 50,000 watt station onto a low power FM station. I go to all home and some road games but like to listen to the post game on the radio.

Even with all their success last season, the Bearcats were 129th of 130 FBS teams in team FG percentage (43.75%). Northwestern was the only team worse.

Fickell and his staff addressed the kicking woes during the offseason, bringing in transfer kicker Ryan Coe. The 6-foot-3, 220-pound former Delaware standout blasted kick after kick on Saturday, including a scrimmage-ending 48-yarder.

"We're going to put him in some tough situations," said Fickell, who received the Bobby Dodd National Coach of the Year Award before the scrimmage. "We trust him. We believe in him. We've seen what he can do. You want the guys around him to see what he can do. I think he's going to do a really, really, really good job. We don't want to put too much on him to start with."

Fickell said it's still unclear who will handle the field goals and kickoffs this season. He said he'll do more kick scrimmaging next week.

Bolded, if we had known that before the season began no one would have bet on the Bearcats to run the table and reach the CFP. It was a glaring deficiency that, thankfully, never cost the team a victory.

I'm getting the feeling this could be a 9-3 year ahead but a field goal here or there with this defense could mean another win or two and a third straight CCG.

I saw the photo of the Dodd presentation to Coach Fickell Saturday on the late news but it wasn't until I read this piece that I learned who the man pictured on the far right side was...

https://gobearcats.com/news/2022/4/10/fo...-rice.aspx

...former Bearcat (and Bengals) Head Coach Homer Rice. He's 95 now and, coincidentally perhaps, happens to be a member of the Bobby Dodd Foundation Board which brought Coach Rice back to a campus he hardly recognized for the ceremony.

It's great that he was able to visit and see the remarkable progress Cincinnati football has made. Most here are way too young to remember much about him but he was a winning coach at Fort Thomas Highlands, authored a book on his coaching innovations, and then coached the Bearcats with Greg Cook at QB before going to the University of North Carolina as Athletic Director. He wasn't successful as Bengals head coach but he wasn't alone in that regard. Anyway, very cool that he got to come back.

That was my freshman year at UC and remember the season well. A prolific offense and no defense. Tied Texas Tech on the road 10-10. Lost to Houston 77-33, lost Ohio U. 60-48 just to remember a few. Miami game was basically over until the 4th quarter. The Bengals played at Nippert that year and the middle of field was practically dirt and O'Brien kicked from that dirt into the wind as a straight on kicker, no soccer style for him. Great game and a great memory back when UC football was an after thought.

It was mostly dirt but they did paint the dirt green for Bengals TV games.

I'm not sure exactly when this is from but it's pretty cool anyway (Jabari Taylor is the "kicker" in question btw):

I wonder what the stakes were....

Who wouldn't enjoy playing in the Bearcat program these days? It's enjoyable just watching the engagement of our coach and the camaraderie of the players in that clip. I expect growing pains early this fall but a very successful season overall.

It was at this weeks practice. I watched the front office news interview of Fickell.

Also, while Bearcat Journal and the Athletic are both great content, these guys are free and probably due the most interviews of players so I've started to follow the channel on youtube.

Chamon was interviewed 5 days ago for those interested in the next great Bearcat TE the link is below. I've been sold since we got him and watched his tape. Athletic freak like a Kelce. Chuck (Charles) and Fick were yesterday. Dan Hoard and media were there as well for Fick so if you want a better production then UC Bearcats Football is the channel you want to watch with Hoard.
