RE: Lester ... BOH?
IF, Lester were to come back - which from what I hear is at best 50/50 (after he finds out about the NBA) - If we can get Deandre to stay along w Harris/Lomax/Bates there is a solid foundation to build around.

Pick up the young man from ECU find two big guys and some wings and lets go. Solid team. Work through the next painful two years and lets prepare for bigger things coming out of this period.

As noted in another thread, getting players won't be impossible. Keeping a couple would be helpful but it's not the end of the world.

As for the IARP stuff, people are acting like the stuff that came out in the paper last Saturday is brand new info, but that's the stuff that has been out there since 2020--about the same time the stuff with KU, Arizona, LSU, and Louisville all came out.

In the meantime, KU is in the FF and Zona was a 1 seed.

If, as rumored, Memphis returns a core of Alo, Harris, J. Lawson, C. Lawson, and Malco and hold onto Deandre, then adding four or so 10 ppg xfers will give this team and Iowa State/Miami vibe--nothing sexy but a solid group of experienced college players who can play with anyone on a given day.

Lester would be a big loss...

But putting his name in the draft is just smart...He is a senior next year...

You only get to do this once.

Your correct nothing new on IARP front. This was simply Memphis responding to a freedom of information act. They chose when to release what they did That all.

One of my favorite players. Really hope he returns.
Couldn't be an April fools joke, could it? Although I believe he should get evaluated by the NBA.

Do they just take measureables and go through drills? Not sure they do a full evaluation.

That's why he didn't take the big office

Even if they did an entire season has been played since then.

RE: Lester ... BOH?
What I like about Lester’s game is that he does whatever the game plan requires of him. Defense, rebounding, scoring, etc. In the pros he might be attractive in several ways.

The problem with him as an NBA player is that he is undersized and at the bottom end of the athleticism spectrum compared to NBA guards/wings.

Next year’s team will be Lomax, Harris, Dandridge, the Lawsons, and Hardaway plus whatever transfers want to come to a program possibly facing a postseason ban.

The saddest thing is that our attrition is independent of the NCAA situation. These players were going to leave months ago due to the incredibly dysfunctional environment Penny set up at the beginning of the year

Bull poop... This is the new reality of college basketball. Practically all teams will be losing 4+ players due to transfer every year from now on. It just is what it is.

I agree with this take. It is the new normal, and we better get used to it.

Perhaps, but at least we're not losing the entire basketball team like LSU. Doesn't seem to have scared away Toppert.

LSU loses entire basketball team to transfer portal, NBA Draft
