Just picked this up from the EMU board, which has a regular weekly "Money Monday" post containing various athletic-financial news. Has post that says adidas may have N-I-L deals for some 50,000 student-athletes.

Hope some NIU people can get on board. In a press release dated Dec. 13, 2019, NIU announced it was extending its athletic apparel contract with adidas through 2026, with a possible extention to 2029.

I must have missed that. Where does it say that???

Here is a link to the actual announcement from Adidas. This NIL program is being phased in so our student athletes will not be able to participate until next year. I read elsewhere that student athletes will get a cut if their tweets/instagram posts results in sales. Talk about brand ambassadors.....This NIL program is not a bad idea from a strict marketing perspective.

On a related note: I read/heard this somewhere (perhaps this Board/BOT Meeting)....When the University has put out RFPs for athletic sponsors, Adidas was the only one to reply.
