Optimistically, once every thirty years. Heck, in spite of late frosts, I was able to get a crop of apricots more often than that out here in western Colorado -- maybe once every six years.

How many dollars is a memory worth? It's not like I wake up every morning with fond memories of the Bengals' ill-fated appearances in two super bowls. That was back in the late Cretaceous, when I still had hair, a 32-inch waist, and only one chin. Speaking now as a Cincy expatriate, I'd advise you voters who might be asked to underwrite the cost of a new stadium to keep your money and use it to craft your own memories.

In a certain sense, it's memories that define each of us and thus shape our lives going forward. And for a lot of people, sports memories are among the favorite of all their memories like going/watching games with family or friends. It's as valid as most any other source of memorable events.

Memories are worth what they mean to each person. My and dad and I used to love going to Bengals games together, talking about Bengals, and sports in general was something that we enjoyed talking about. I cherish those memories and would have loved to have been able to share the UC and Bengals success with him this year. Memories like that literally are priceless, to me. Others may not see much in it and feel we could have enjoyed different things.

For others it may be going to the Grand Canyon and seeing thr beauty. To some its just looking at a big hole.

Being uneducated you apparently are not aware that long ago they merged to become Ringling Brothers, Barnum and Bailey. Nor are you aware they closed operations in 2017.

Having been privileged in my career to live and work at the Grand Canyon, I can tell you that the millions of folks who visit it each year don't react the way Chevy Chase did in Family Vacation. The place is simply spectacular, day after day, year after year, in every weather and light, and eternally so, at least when measured against the entire span of human history. The feeling of space there is palpable. One can sense it even with eyes closed.

Memories of a game, no matter how important it may have seemed at the time or with whom the experience was shared, are far more ephemeral and likely to fade. But each to his own. If you've never been to the place, you wouldn't understand. And if you have been there and weren't moved, I pity you.
