Congratulations Bucs!

Hope they do well in Waco. And I hope UT smacks Vandy around this weekend in Nashville. I’d love to be at either one of those series, but alas will be watching on the tube. Our 4-1 loss to the Vols in Knoxville doesn’t look too bad right now.

Normally I wouldn't post something like this, but this is a very well-done ceremony marking the beginning of construction of the baseball training facility (which includes locker rooms, etc.). Pay particular attention to the remarks of Wade Farmer (sp?), the representative of Sonia King. That part starts about 3:44. It's really a classy presentation. 21+ minutes total, but I think time well-spent:

Bucs have left 9 runners on through 4 innings without a run. Trail Citadel 3-0 in the first round of the tournament

Pretty disappointing result. Really needed to get a little offense going. Pitching and defense did its job - 3 runs allowed is not perfect, but pretty darn good. The offense has to do its part. I was hoping to get to the weekend.

Not an awful season, but, of course, you'd always want better. I would have liked to be in the top half of the conference to get to the weekend portion of the tournament.

This really isn't the place for this, but there isn't actually a good one. Trey just published this about 3 weeks ago, and I suspect some didn't see it. It's kinda a fun article looking back at the Hammaker and Lodes years:

Charley Lodes and his merry men

SoCon rep UNCG held scoreless in both games of the NCAA baseball regional. Not a good look for our conference.
