Interesting. Had not seen that.

Hartman always seemed "all in." Hope BU can snag another good one; the strength/performance coaching role(s) are important.

P.S. WTF?

Lux can "splash it" too and may grow beyond his current 6'5" (a la Benedetti?).

Nice pickups, but I'd still like to see BU pick up some size for the future.

Agreed, BU lost out on 6'9" Sam Orme of Carmel (teammate of Suder) as he picked Belmont over Bellarmine yesterday

Crud. Carmel has a nice program (so I'm happy that Suder is "in the fold").

Also excited to see what Hatton does. And, with the "anything goes" transfer free-for-all, I guess Orme (or some other big man) could wind up at the "better" BU one day. 03-wink

Sam Orme didn't commit to Belmont yet...he just received an offer.

Sure hope I'm wrong, but zero chance of it happening,

I cant believe that they won't change the NIT rule. It wouldn't even take an amendment to the by laws. Just change the NIT rules, which the NCAA owns and can do anything it wants with it.

I am really not concerned about eligibility at this point. Last season was fantastic and really is the model for all future seasons. The main goal for every season is winning the conference tournament. The fact that the ASUN is one team tournament league is kind of a blessing. You can play all the great teams you want to play in the preconference because all that matters is winning the league tournament and playing great competition is getting you ready for the league tourney. As far as the effect on recruiting of NCAA tournament eligibility, it seems like that should be pretty much passed at this point. Next years recruits will only be tournament ineligible for one year and that is a hurdle that Scotty and Co. can overcome.

BTW, I am predicting that BU beats at least one of the big name schools in the pre-conference. (I guess Louisville would be the most likely candidate, considering its a whole new untested team, coaches and players)

I'm sure that everyone's seen the full schedule, but it's nice to see the media coverage, including Crawford:

RE: 2022-23 Season
I talked to Scotty on his radio show last week. He invited all the listeners to practice. (Wed.@4:00 and Fri @ 3;30). So I took him up on it and went to practice. It's really fun as a spectator. Couple of takeaways:
- Pfriem and Thelan did not participate, they are recovering from injury.
- Jaylen Fairman looks like a major contributor. Quickest guy on the team and some great handle.
-Ben Johnson can light it up.
-Sam Devault can still shoot the lights out. I thought he looked good in other phases. Hatton is not automatically in front of Devault.
-Freshman Michael Bova can shoot it. Not sure he'll be a big contributor this season, but he definitely will be a factor shooting the three at some point.
Freshman Peter Suder, does not look like a freshman physically. Very good looking 2.
-Of course, this is Justin Betz team and the team could not have a better leader

Good to hear about Fairman, Moves; he has big PG shoes to fill, but I have a hunch he can come in and have a big impact, a la Al Davis.

Are those the practice times each Wednesday and Friday?

In other news, this is cool -- Jelani Johnson named an assistant coach at Newberry.

RE: 2022-23 Season
One of our great fans comes through and wins an auction (for charity), so the Knights are the 21st team to get a season preview on the CBS "Eye on College Basketball" vlog/podcast:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a4AlOJYSG8A

It's certainly no "deep dive" (we here could've done a better analysis of BU's prospects), and the hosts try to be a little too cutesy, but it's still kind of fun.
