I saw this trending on Twitter as I dont watch the Oscars any longer.... and was curious.

Rock cracked a joke about Jada and Will Smith walks up on stage and slapped him in the face. Then yelled at him to keep his wife's name out of his effin mouth...twice.

Looked real and faked at the same time. The Australian version has the unedited audio of Will cursing him out after he sat down, so who knows. I guess the Oscars needed a rating spike

He later tearfully apologized to everyone but Chris Rock.

Smith lost it. Something wrong with the guy. Got up out of his seat after a joke and attacked him on stage.

I walked in about 10 mins after this supposedly happened. The Missus been a fan of this crap since childhood and it was a family event. Food and all.

She still watches, but mostly endures it by now. I never had, but she still rewound it because ErMiGawd look at this!!!

A. Will smith could knock Rock flat on his face.
B. Rock would by necessity get up and fight back.
C. Smith should’ve been cuffed and escorted out for assault (at least).
D. Loser Smith is allowed to sit in the front row and accept his Grammy without anyone blinking an eye. He gets a standing O in fact.
E. We never see Rock again. At all. No after parties etc for one of the loons biggest stars.

F. Aaaaaand the bestest: I watch the BBC on Saturday and Sunday mornings for Attenborough and the Yellowstone nature shows. So on the crawl at the bottom the channel is there.

What is/was on tonight?

Yup. G.I. Jane…

Anyone still believe in coincidences? All staged and BBC etc given a clear heads up.

That’s a 15-20 year old loser movie, but it’s miraculously on tonight?!?

Later in the broadcast the Oscars also went to a blank screen that simply said Oscars at one point during Smiths tearful acceptance/apology speech. Not sure what that was about either. The audio wasn’t cut off during the that portion if the speech——just the picture was changed to the “Oscars” screen.

It’s odd, I have refused to watch that show for probably five years running because of its politics, but my son came in the room and wanted to see a bit of it. I saw maybe ten minutes of the show before this incident and then decided to stick around to see how they handled the rest of the show after that awkward incident.

Jada has a condition called Alopecia. Apparently it causes severe hair loss in women in response to stress.

I’m not saying I agree with Will interrupting an event to take care of his business in public. I do agree with why he did it. There are some things you shouldn’t joke about. Certainly not about man’s wife who is fighting a disease.

I say this for Chris Rock.

Good for him Will Smith has been taught how to pull a punch, in this case what we used to call a “b*tch slap” in my old neighborhood.

If Will hadn’t pulled it a bit he would have knocked Chris off of his feet.

Now I’m waiting for Chris to joke and apologize for this publicly at next year’s Oscars.

It might be enough to get me to watch but probably not.

It would take a topless wrestling match between Christina Hendricks and Sofía Vergara to get me to watch the Oscars.

Will Smith is, as this board would say, a major Cuck. A beta. Apparently you can **** his wife and nothing happens. Make a joke and he will give a slap so weak that it doesn’t faze a 160 pound man. And he seemed to laugh at the joke at first, she probably made him do it. What a weird ass couple. Chris Rock is awesome.

Rock and Smith are close to the same age, the guy that was giving Jada the "Fresh Prince" was in his 20s.

Staged. Had to be. I could have slapped Rock off his feet. He stood there braced for it as if he expected it. Now why would they stage something like that? It's Hollyweird so who the hell knows. I've enjoyed most of Smith's movies but he's turned odd.

My opinion, if Will Smith really wanted to do the right thing....he would have grabbed his wife's hand and walked out. But we all know why didn't.
