I could not be more proud of our young men. Between graduation, transfers and injuries we were without our top seven scorers from last year's Final Four squad for the last three months of the season. Winning the conference and getting back to the Elite Eight under those circumstances was an incredible achievement.

Go Coogs!

RE: Congrats on a great season Houston
We're all still part of the AAC, and our top 3 teams were all under-rated this year.

After losing Sasser and Mark, I didn't think we'd make a bigger splash in the NCAA than last year, but as we got closer to it, it certainly would've been nice to equal that splash, but we picked the wrong game for every possible 3-pt shooter on the team to slump from the 3-line.

But they played with heart the entire game, I'm proud of this season, they never gave up no matter what the odds against them.

If UH was in the Big-12 this year that conference would have been occupied 1 forth of the Sweet 16.

Large credit goes to the coach.

Not acknowledging the impact that joining the American has had on our program would be incredibly disrespectful. Obviously we're nothing without Sampson but having quality programs to recruit and play against significantly helped the rebuild. This league has always been undervalued. The fact that the MWC got twice as many bids as us this year is criminal.

Houston had an outstanding season, and if the whole team had been healthy, they probably would have won the NCAA championship.

Not many teams in the history of college basketball have gone to the Elite Eight two years in a row.

The Cougars could be very strong again next season, if Sasser, Edwards, and Sasser return, and if Tramon Mark recovers fully from his shoulder injury. It appears that Carlton, White, and Moore have played out their eligilibility, but Houston already has a 4* and a 5* recruit coming to replace them.

Thus, the two incoming recruits and Sasser being available could do a lot to help fill the gaps left by the departing Seniors, and it looks like Houston may be able to bring in two transfers, now that Ambrester, who rarely played, is transferring out.

With a HC like Sampson and their talent, the Cougars might be able to reach the Elite Eight again next season.

Third time UH has done it. In fact this was the first time we've made the E8 and failed to advance. We were 6-0 in E8 games previously. Like you say though, we're bringing in some strong recruits, so its entirely possible we make it back next year.
