Computer data deleted...Is there a rule that Athletic coaches computers need to have their data saved for x # of days.

Most companies wipe computers when they give them to new employees.

Complaining about the format emails were sent in seems really petty unless they requested the data again and it was refused...Because the emails are likely still there.

If I remember correctly it was something like..

Penny and the school reported the violation. Wiseman was cleared.

a few months later they notify the school that Wiseman may not be cleared. Penny disclosed the moving money, but didnt notify the NCAA he had made a donation to the school that made him a booster.

I thought we were on probation in 1987 for things that happened in 1986 and before? Almost sounds like double jeopardy

Again, I think the university is making a mistake if they fight this. They’ll try to prolong this to milk whatever money they can from fans and sponsors while rebutting these claims. It is going to lead to a painful leaching of our basketball program that will be followed by the same penalties we would’ve received if we had taken the original penalties. It’s time to take our medicine. Get out of the shadow and rebuild.

I don’t even think our athletic department can bring themselves to do a self imposed proactive post season ban because they’re so concerned about short term money grabs

Here’s my issue with all of that - yes penny was a booster yes he provided wiseman moving $ (like he has countless kids) but penny was steering wiseman to KENTUCKY at that time and not the university of Memphis. The head coaching job at the UofM was NOT open at that time nor was penny headed there. Penny was a high school coach who was considering taking on an assistant coaching gig at kentucky.

The timeline here is important. If penny knew tubby was out and he was in talks as the UofM coach WHEN the wiseman situation happened then sure this is a violation. But that is not the case.

When penny took the UofM job he self reported the moving money to our compliance department. If this was such a shady move, why do that?

And to bring in infractions under cal and others is a downright smear campaign.

This season was an ideal candidate, but we were so loaded, rolled the dice and it almost paid off. Hindsight is almost always 100%

Pretty sure this part is related to MM33. We will see. I clean my phone and computer about once a week so not sure how they can determine intent.

Well. This is not ideal.

We stuck our middle finger up to the NCAA. They just stuck their whole leg up our ass.

Mike Miller announced he was leaving on the the 3rd.

They say they reviewed the PC on the 5th and the data was deleted.

Question is was the data deleted before or after they requested it...

That timeline doesn't look good although it is all circumstantial.

Sounds like no evidence of anything current. Failure to cooperate? Compared to who? Duke?

Exactly......This absolutely reeks....This is a lot of teaching to try and continue to show dominance over an entity....This is equivalent to bullying....just because you can....How do these events get casually swept under the rug with other institutions....F**K JB and F*%K NCAA TOO

RE: Hardaway, Memphis face multiple Level I, II charges by the NCAA
So insanely ridiculous the gall this organization has to pretend that the entire veil of their authority hasn’t been lifted. They dig that deep into the university and find crumbs to flick at the administration in hopes that they bow down to these useless idiots.

They sold their soul ages ago and can and will continue to suck at the tit of the blue bloods that skirt and trim and maneuver away from them every minute of every hour of every day.

Players make NIL money now. No one cares. All the perceived evils of the $100 handshake of the 80’s has been replaced by local companies outwardly supporting these athletes and the NCAA just cannot stand that absolutely anyone with an ounce of a brain can truly see that it doesn’t make a lick of difference and their “oversight” of college athletics has been a gigantic sham.

Go the way of the Dodo bird. Extinction is the only reasonable end result for these hapless goons and the people that pretended they could regulate the BILLIONS of dollars colleges make from athletic departments. Take a bow NCAA. In the end you couldn’t even prevent a biological man from winning NCAA womens swimming titles.

I applaud our admin for not cooperating with em. F em!
