Whatever happens, absolutely proud of this team and I hope this is a stepping stone for our program, finally getting that first NCAA tourney game win.

Yep, 2 goals in the past 8 periods. Offense really dried up.
That’s typically playoff hockey. On many levels
Yep

You wonder how this game plays out if the Attard goal counts.
Either way, this was a phenomenal season.
I’ll be interested to see if guys like Worrad, Gallant, & Joyaux decide to come back.

Losing because of two mistakes is tough. Sasson not picking up his guy resulting in the one timer to get their first; then a dumb penalty by Frank giving them their second. Credit to Minnesota, but this F'ing sucks.

Just like in the Duluth game when Fanti robbed Sasson.
This game is TOTALLY different if Attard's goal counts.
If Worrad, Gallant and Joyaux stay, we could have another solid season next year but I think we are going to rebuild the next few years, not CC / Miami bad, but probably fighting for that 4-6 spot in the standings.
Biggest takeaway from the last 3 games was a lack of offense, I know we played some good defensive teams but that was the absolute killer of us. If you want to be in the frozen four and running for a national championship, you have to find ways to score and unfortunately we didnt.
Bussi played outstanding and this game could have easily been 5-0.

What on earth was their deal with the blue line today? Never a good sign when players are going east-west at the blue line as opposed to north. The Goophes just looked better at every aspect of the game today. Oh well.
At least WMU won a game this year. That's progress. Now everyone root for scUM to lose.

Hoping for Quinnipiac and Denver, with Denver winning for the conference.
Fine season. Tough to bow out on a big goose egg though.

Thanks to many of you guys for all the WMU hockey updates and news all year. I’m a hockey fan, season ticket holder, etc. but I have a fraction of the hockey knowledge compared to a bunch of you guys! Regardless of today’s outcome, it was a helluva season. Definitely one of the Top 5 - 10 teams in the country….that doesn’t happen every year. Bummed about a missed Frozen Four opportunity for sure though.

Its so dang frustrating that even freaking Ferris State played for a national championship and their team was built like ours, with hardly any NHL draft picks and we didnt even make the Frozen Four.

Yeah, that Frank penalty was enormous. We were controlling the play in the 2nd half of the 2nd period. Didn't even get a chance to build on the momentum with Ethen taking a penalty 10 seconds into the 3rd.

I know it stings right now, but gotta put this in perspective. We took a big step this year. Kids are gonna want to play for Fersch moving forward. We'll be back soon
