I'd love to get his overall feelings on the transfer rules and specifically if he thinks the current rules make it that much harder to establish a culture within a program, when so many players feel like they can transfer at any time.

Simple one for me guys, just say thank you to him and ask him to Old Dominion back on the jerseys. Tired of being alphabet U. We have a proud name and need to get back to using it.

What are your recruiting priorities are at this point - i.e., size, 3-point shooter, experience, any specific position(s)?

Also, is there a style of play that you most often utilized while you coached at DeMatha, or one that you most enjoyed using?

If you had the kind of roster at ODU to play it, what would your preferred offensive and defensive styles be?

RE: ODU Fan Podcast
I'm sure I speak for many of us Monarchs when we say welcome home and thank you for wantign to come home and pick this program back up, as well as being a champion for the university since being hired.

Most basketball questions I had were already asked in the thread so I'll ask some others:

1) I'd love to know his thoughts on the Ted, the Mitchum practice center, and how campus in general has changed since he graduated

2) Are there any traditions he plans on starting or bringing back, i.e. with Blaine's teams they had the team stand on the 3-pt line amr in arm with the dancers and cheerleaders facing the student section and band singing the alma mater after the games were over, or having MBB fan events like the Big Blue BBQ or things like that which would be open to not just STH but the average fan and students

3) Does Under Armour give him control of how the uniforms look or do they give them a new template every year?

Excited to hear this episode!

I remember a conversation with JJ at an ODAF function. A number of us were worried about the impact of losing Painter.
When asked about replacing him, Jones said something to the effect of "Size is a priority. We will do much more than replace him, we are going to get bigs that will be substantially more dominant than DeShawn."

Coachspeak from the new guy of course. However, sometimes things don't go as planned.
just sayin'

Any plans to add exclusive basketball clothing for purchase. Most of the time, the gear I want isn't sold in the bookstore and I would definitely pay $10-15 more for an item with the extra money going back to the program.

Yes, we definitely plan on adding gear for football and basketball. My hope is to have all sports eventually.

I will add that our prices are still competitive and maybe even cheaper than the bookstore. Don't think you can find a hoodie at ODUs bookstore for as cheap as we sell ours.

If you have any ideas on things you want to see on a tshirt, let us know.

I'm sure it's been posted before, but to save me and possibly others some searching, can you post a link to the site where we can look at gear available for purchase? Thanks.

You can get it on our website here.
https://odumonarchists.com/store/

However, the API is a bit limiting and and can be confusing, so I try to send most folks to the host site here. It's a much more intuitive website.

We post in the description what sport and where the money goes on each item. We can also can be nimble and create cool gear that folks want to wear.

Thanks for the second link. I would definitely be interested in any shirt, t shirt or sweatshirt that says ODU Basketball or Old Dominion Basketball.

Our last episode on season 2 for the basketball show with Kieran Donohue is now up. We wrap up the season talking about the biggest hurdles, future conference schedules, the transition to this being Mike Jones' program and the future for Kieran. I think it's a good one that really shows how relatable KD is. Enjoy!

Thanks for that. One of my favorite episodes to date. KD is a great guy, and I love the fact that it's looking like he'll stick around campus in some form or fashion. ODU is a better place with KD around.

Thanks Coach. And you’re 100% correct on ODU being a better place with KD around. So happy for him and his family. Feel the same way about Jamal.

I may be doing something wrong on the site, but I'm only seeing a few items. Several tee shirts and a sweatshirt or two. Is there more? Looking for a nice basketball sweatshirt or maybe a golf shirt. Are those types of items coming? Thanks again.

Yes, more items are coming. But we just launched the store. And I’m designing the shirts myself, so it takes me some time to get a good idea and go with it.
