The Stadium's College Basketball Insider Jeff Goodman is reporting that UT Men's Basketball Assistant Coach Walter Offutt is being hired by former Rocket's Ass't Coach Ryan Pedon who just took the job at Illinois St. This is a good career move for the up and coming Offutt as he goes to the Missouri Valley Conference. He did a great job both recruiting and coaching during his 2 year stay at Toledo. He will be missed!

I remember that TK called Walter “a rising star” when he hired him and said he didn’t expect him to be in Toledo long term. Glad we got 3 years with him on the staff!

Good luck to Walter Offutt. Bad timing for the Rockets. His connections would have been a boost to Spring recruiting.

Jordan Strack reporting that Jordan Lauf will be replacing Walter Offutt as a full-time Assistant Coach. Good internal move by TK as they can continue their recruiting efforts without losing any momentum by the loss of Offutt. I also think Lauf will do great in his new role with him being a former Rocket Player and also involved in the Program after his career as its Operations Manager!
