I don't disagree, and it's easy to play Monday morning QB as we all do, but, one has to think if White actually made this trip, would Thomas have gotten this op? Honestly, seems to me he should have been eating into Fornes minutes long before now

Never know when opportunity arrives and Thomas was prepared. The biggest problem Thomas had was playing too fast and loose, so he limited his minutes due to his play. Looks to me like he really worked on limiting those mistakes and that's why he stayed on the court more this tournament. He always had the potential and the tools but this was the first time he kept the positives and removed the negatives.

I don't disagree, but when you have very limited minutes, it's hard to find your grove. It's hard to imagine he'd have gotten his shot had White made the trip. Fornes hasn't been great since about the time the streak ended. Thomas should have started to eat into his minutes then IMO.

The pluses outweigh the minuses when it comes to Thomas, and that was true earlier in the season too.
Meanwhile, Fornes’ value to the team was almost entirely derived from his perimeter shooting. On an off shooting night (which he had many), he brought a limited skillset to the floor.
I’d have liked to have seen Thomas play more before this, but at least he’s getting his chances now. He’ll be an integral piece next year.

Siddle has taken the time to slowly and effectively groom Thomas. While I would have liked to have seen him play more, I think it will pay off big time for Thomas and the team. This kid came in a little raw, but he will be special.
