Congrats to NIU baseball
Holy Cow, this might be the only time this season we get to congratulate NIU baseball -- although I hope I'm wrong. Huskies are 2-1 in the MAC as of today......okay 2-12 overall, but still.

Technically two wins are simply back-to-back, it takes a minimum of three to be considered an actual streak. Believe it was Cleveland Indians skipper Lou Brown who established that in the movie Major League.

The non-streak is over.

Losing 9-2 today in the first game after four innings. They are giving up runs at beyond an horrendous pace.

Ed Mathey got a pay raise not to mention significantly more administrative support in choosing to return to North Central College. Promise you, he has zero interest in coming back to DeKalb.

..... He got a pay raise at D3 school? Their baseball facilities are nicer too

Something is wrong with that...

RE: Congrats to NIU baseball
From what I recall, Mathey returned to North Central primarily so his kids could then attend NCC for free. He was able to save several years of college tuition/costs, as he had three kids, and at least two were at/near college age and going to attend NCC when he left NIU.

At least they took the rubber game against the A's. I can't wait to play them when the move to Las Vegas.

That is NOT a rubber game. By definition, a rubber game breaks a tie in a series. Unfortunately, we had already lost the first two games.

One game Monday vs. Ball State, then four games each at WMU, home vs. EMU, at Toledo and home vs. BGSU.

17 games left on sked.
