According to Lisa Freeman's "transparency" website, the contract end is still June 30. I don't wish bad on anyone, but taking a larger and less personal view, maybe we'll be waiting awhile since that date is after school's out and things quiet down.

bump

Any word on any changes? I checked Lisa Freeman's "Committed to Transparency" website listing contracts and there has been no change/extension.

I thought in the Summer Circuit video that he left every impression that he was coming back. We have three players in the transfer portal. Unfortunately, including Carlos Aranda, who led the team in batting average, home runs, slugging %, and on+base %.

RE: Congrats to NIU baseball
I thought he looked pretty happy/smiley-faced about something, but was more focused on our two basketball coaches. But let's consider the "impression."

He's possibly losing three guys including Aranda. Lots of reasons guys go into the portal, including he can't convince them to stay, they just want greener pastures because NIU's have been brown for a long time (see record), or the new infield turf isn't enough "wow" to impress.

Nothing against our Coach K, we never met but I'll assume an ok guy, but ... new major field project, new season coming, fresh start?

Old line from somewhere, a song I think: " ... put on a happy face ... ."

Maybe Carlos Aranda was offered NIL money at another school?

Just an outstanding facility and exactly what we need.

Sun field is left field. Picture is facing East and the football stadium is South. Still it is a nice facility.

UIC’s baseball stadium is even better. They got a big donation from Curtis Granderson for it. The MVC is a very good baseball conference.

And Bradley plays in Dozer Park.

Missouri State plays in an even better stadium than Dozer (Hammons Field). They’re fortunate Peoria and Springfield MO have Cardinals minor league affiliates. NIU could probably do the same with the Kane County Cougars but paying to rent that and drive and hour roundtrip might not be the best idea.

The NIU Hockey team used to play in the arena next to the Cougars stadium (I don't recall what it was called back then) and yeah...it was a haul and a half to get out there for a game and with baseball's schedule...that's too much.

Fake news.

There is nothing ISU or any FCS football school could possibly have that NIU would want, even if it's a baseball field.

Looks overrated to me....if real.

If by "right" you mean southwest corner facing northeast, no. The ISU field has home plate at the northwest corner, facing southeast. Their softball field is the same. NIU's softball field is home/southwest facing northeast, fyi.

Does anyone know who won the big lottery payout in Illinois, and if he went to a local university. NIU has 200k+ alumni, spouses, kids.... John Doe Stadium, like it.

Also ... there are some Jane Doe Stadiums for baseball out there too. Never forget those wonderful, generous ladies.

1990 was 4 metal bleachers (5 rows you see in little league) and a small construction trailer for the scorekeepers and PA, yours truly.

So permanent press box and bleachers are the improvements of the last 30 years, no?
