A little bit of a mismatch
I saw this score a bit a ago USC (the real one) 38 Howard 2. Nice of the Cocks to allow Howard to score a bucket. Haven't looked at the updated score yet.

44-4 at the half. 60-8 and the end of the 3rd quarter. Cocks must have played their walk-ons in the fourth quarter as it ended up "only" 79-21. Mismatches are much more evident in the women's game.

In the Women's tournament any low seed beating a high seed is a major upset. Things like 12/5 upsets that are very common in the Men's tournament happen maybe once every few years on the Women's side.
The money difference between the haves and have nots on the Women's side is too much for programs to overcome.

I guess the days of schools like Latech and ODU dominating the women’s game are over.
