Only 3 Cinderella's made it to the round of 32 - Saint Peters, Richmond, and New Mexico St.
The 2nd round will be made up of 8 teams (25%) not from the P6
Horrible Tourney for the MWC, 0-4
Outstanding tourney for the best conference in college basketball the BigXII, 6-0
And finally, out of the top 16 teams (seeds 1-4) only Kentucky lost. It was a pretty chalky 1st round.

I presume you aren't counting 11 seeds as Cinderalla's-Notre Dame, Michigan and Iowa St. all won.

IMO Cinderella's are 12 seed or higher non power conference schools.

12 seeds have a tendency to do well as they are frequently underseeded mid-major conference champs.

Very nice looking team. Their chances are as good as many in this tournament to win it all.

I'm definitely not saying my definition is the only correct one, there's many ways to look at it. Back in the 80's we had two Cinderella national championship runs, 83' N.C. State, 85' Villanova. The big difference I see now when we talk about basketball in the 21st century is the vast chasm we see in resources and media exposure between the power conferences and everyone else.

So while I would tend to agree Villanova winning it all as an 8 seed in 85' was a Cinderella run. If North Carolina was to make the same kind of run this year, I would not view it the same way. 04-cheers

What Houston has done without two key players is impressive. When the Coogs are on ... Final Four material.

Yes, Houston looks more like a 2 or 3 seed, has all year.

Could return to the F4.

Kind of the Cincinnati of college hoops the last two years.

Take that back!
