Q is on my all-time Flash five. He's #1 of players that were just fun to watch. He played with a lot of joy.

Agree. Q was a blast to watch. It helped that he was coupled with Mike Scott, who was less flashy, but just as effective. The two complemented each other very well.

I think every flash fan back then had the thought "If Q was 6'10" he'd be a lottery pick.". If this kid inherited his game the sky's the limit. I saw Q at least one game, sitting in the row behind the bench, last year with a tall kid (assuming Jayden). It'd be awesome to see him come here, but I won't be holding my breath.

Just curious, are there any 4 or 5 star players on current MAC rosters that went to the MAC school straight from high school?

The Head Coach of the Kent State is fallsdog. Now, please welcome the starting lineup for your Golden Flashes:

At Center, 6'8 from Brooklyn New York, #34 Justin Greene
At one Forward, 6'8 from Sarasota Floride, #1 Haminn Quaintance
At the other Forward, 6'7 from Brooklyn New York, #35 Jimmy Hall
At one guard from Indianapolis Indiana, #32 Rodgriquez Sherman
At at the other Guard from Pennsauken New Jersey, #5 Al Fisher

No more than 12 three point shots may be taken in a given game.

I'D REPLACE JUSTIN GREENE W/JIMMY HALL AND SLIDE IN MIKE SCOTT, WHO WAS A MORE-THAN-CAPABLE 3-POINT SHOOTER AND TOP SHELF REBOUNDER AS WELL.

THAT SAID ..... the above 5 would still have their hands full w the Elite 8 starting five!!!!

RE: Basketball Offseason
True. But they would play hard as Hades on the defensive end, slow the game down in the half court and be tough and fear no opponent. They are what I call, go to war guys. In my career as a coach I have never minded losing with go to war guys.

Now, are there several other go to war guys not on my five. Shoot. You better believe it. Holt, Sullinger, Henry-Ala, Warzinsky, Mike freaking Scott. And many more.

Any list of any kind must include Trevor Huffman and Antonia Gates.

No, but Sonny Wilson out of Detroit just committed to Toledo (over Kent and Oakland). He's the #2 2023 recruit in Michigan and a top 150 player nationally on the cusp between 3/4 star, but his game is a little unorthodox and he's a bit undersized so the P6 schools haven't gone after him.

Last MAC 4 star HS recruits were Zeke Marshall at Akron and Ziegler at CMU, I beleive.

Marshall was SOFT. The most overrated MAC player in recent memory. CrAkron thought they had Hakeem Olojuwan but he was more like Shawn Bradley.

RE: Basketball Offseason
I'm not sure how long the "star" system has been around, but there certainly was a time, a very long time ago to be sure, when the MAC had more 4 star or the equivalent recruits. Because of the nature of the game now I expect even a 4-star recruit will be incredibly rare,

Individually and as a group the E8 team stands alone in my mind. I think one can put together several collection of players that could compete with the E8, and perhaps even win a best of 5 or 7. But when it comes to a team with a COMPLETE collection of all parts needed for success, - offensively-defensively-individually-collectively -- including a top notch and deep bench, the E8 team truly stands alone.
