Maryland Eastern Shore is playing in the TBC at Coastal tonight (they are getting blown-out). Maryland-ES is 11-15 overall and has the second worst conference record in the 8 team MEAC. I would be embarrassed if my team went to post season with that record. It completely cheapens the TBC. If they can't get better teams (there were plenty out there), maybe they should fold-up shop. I would rather they figure out how to get the numerous teams with 18 or more wins that turned them down. Apparently it is harder then I thought it would be.

Unfortunately, this tournament is officially a "joke". Wofford advanced allegedly because the team they were "supposed" to play dropped out because of Covid. UMBC pulled out, forfeiting to Merrimack. After the first round they have something like 10 teams left. What do they do now? Give random teams byes?

I will say, though, that I wonder if it’s a benefit to recruiting to be able to say you’re a school that will make an effort play in some sort of post season tournament as opposed to just going home. If you can afford it, of course.
