You quoted him but kind of proved his point. He never mentioned Memphis.

You wrote “ hope that UAB can Jump a few in line who think they are also ready to join the Big 12”. The above post asserts UAB’s near equivalence with Memphis. There are presently two schools with the most realistic chance of future B12 membership: Memphis and SMU.
Therefore, you think UAB will surpass Memphis. It is disingenuous to state otherwise. Now go away until UAB joins the AAC.

There have been rumors that if the Big 12 were going to expand further it could take up to four more schools. Memphis is for sure the school getting the first look but its not likely that they would be the only school added. So his post in no way should be read to be a shot at any specific school (least of all Memphis). Stop getting worked up for nothing.

Memphis is among the “jumped” schools. I am a Memphis fan so naturally I focus on the Tigers. For reasons unknown, this topic excites you to the extent of chastising two different Memphis posters. Who is the one worked up?

This is a UH related thread so I check it. UAB fans were really respectable to UH before, during, and after our game so I'm just attempting to return the favor by keeping the peace.

A laudable endeavor, although the topic of the thread pertains to a game resulting in Houston's victory and not to a CUSA member's ambition to "jump" existing AAC schools - hardly a peace making gesture. I prefer discussing Houston's outstanding Tourney run.

As do I. I was pulling hard for you guys yesterday. I know it was a tough loss but it was a hell of a showing. I know for a fact that yall helped us get to a higher level of play this year. Hope to see you guys back in the tourney again next year.

This is admittedly very late, but wanted to congratulate Houston on their win against UAB and Illinois.
Houston looked like a 2 or 3 seed out there. There was no way you guys were a 5 seed, and you were vastly underseeded. I thought we had a chance to make a run in this tournament, but we got a terrible matchup with you guys. That being said, outside of the initial onslaught where you literally couldn't miss from three, I liked the way we played and we didn't give up. The game was fairly even after that initial barrage.
Good luck the rest of the way Houston. I was very impressed by your team.
As an aside, this was the first NCAA tournament I was able to attend in person. Even though my team lost, it was an incredibly fun experience. AK is a great coach, and I think we will be back more often than not in the future.

A late congrats to the Coog fans. That was a better game than the score shows, especially the first half. I don't know many teams that would beat UH when they make nine 3's in the first half along with that defensive intensity.
I didn't realize how good Shead was until I saw the game. I was at a lot of the Phi Slama Jamma games when Gettys put those numbers up, so hearing that Shead was matching/exceeding him told me a lot.
Well done, and I'll be pulling for UH for as long as they can keep going.

And yet your post perpetuates. Houston has played two games since UAB, lol.
Let's not muddle the thread with "jumping in line" and other unrelated posts and focus instead on Houston's victory over a plunky CUSA school and continued success.

Please stop this nonsense. A little over 10 minutes into the game the score was Houston 31 - UAB 14. With 10 minutes remaining in the game the score was Houston 65 - UAB 51. I love UAB basketball. UAB was dominated in this game. It wasn’t even close.
The KenPom probability chart of winning indicated the lowest probability of Houston winning in the first half was 83%. In the second half Houston’s lowest probability of winning was 92%. In the last 10 minutes that probability was never less than 98%.

That’s not fair to your team tbh. They were in the game. I remember Sampson saying either at halftime or post game that UAB was making us be someone we aren’t, playing fast offensive pace and not playing defense. He was worried when our shots stopped falling UAB would catch up.
UH was under seeded UAB could have beat a lot of other 5 seeds. Y’all will be fine

I agree with your last two sentences. In fact with Andy Kennedy as our coach I think we will be better than fine. We all have different opinions and perspectives. I saw a Houston team that was taller, longer, and more athletic at every position than UAB. We had a great season, but we never came close to winning that game.
I guess we differ on what “being in the game” means. Sampson’s comments were just “coach’s talk,” nothing more.
Good luck to Houston!
