Louisville bringing Kenny Payne home where he belongs…,
Glad to see our athletics department get serious about competing again.

“A Mississippi native who played his college ball at Louisville, Payne won a national championship with the Cardinals in 1986 before being selected in the first round of the 1989 NBA draft.

He is known as one of the elite recruiters in college basketball.”

Don’t know much about him. I saw Xavier fired their guy. They’ll hire Pat Kelsey, whom I thought Louisville should go for.

Sounds like Nolan Smith (current Duke assistant) is coming with him.

That's the massive rumor in Louisville, but I just heard from someone with the Knicks, who came right out and said Nolan Smith was coming.

I guess we'll see soon enough.

03-thumbsup

Sounds like a really good move for the Cardinals, which in turn will be a really good move for the ACC.

Hubert Davis, Jon Scheyer and Kenny Payne…three consecutive alums hired at big time basketball schools. Jim Boeheim was way ahead of his time.

Seems like a good fit for Louisville. Spending 10 years under Calipari at Kentucky should help.

The KP hire is getting me amped back up for college sports. uk losing in the first rd also helps. Been getting into both tourneys, my apathy is almost gone. ACC is actually kicking some butt (NC over Baylor!?). Football recruiting also seems to be heating up under Satt. Keep this up & I may even start to care about the ACC again.
