Tuesday's thoughts
I was typing my musings yesterday while emu baseball eagles were beating ball state 7-2 only to see we lost? ouch.
There are about 358 mens basketball teams, 68 make the tournament, Which would give us a 19% chance to make the the tourney. However being a 1 bid league the is about 7%.
Football we have a 40-50% chance of making the post season with MAC tie ins. Expectations for basketball need to change? but the problem is to what? my solution to expand the tournament to 128 becomes difficult in terms of when to have games, how to keep people interested *gambling (brackets) and still allow for conference tournaments to exist. looking for solutions.

You mean like college football and all those bowl games? That kind of change? No thank you.

RE: Tuesday's thoughts
I think you raise a good point. But I have mixed emotions on implentation. I like the current NCAA format as is and expanding would likely dilute out the prestige and excitement. The NIT can easily add a round and go up to 64 teams. That gives a total of 132 teams with recognition in terms of a “real” tournament invitation- or roughly the top third of division 1. Too many mid majors are having solid years and being left behind to decide if they want to play in one of the pay to play tournies.

Watched MSU and Duke. All I can say is: Banchero > Hauser.
Hauser really had trouble defended Banchero especially late with the game on the line.
Maybe Banchero plays for the Pistons and Hauser gets a G-Leauge invite (not sure, though).

Joey is really a great young man. He is a good shooter with a nice motor and actually would have been a fabulous MAC player had he decided to land there. He clearly is not a B1G conference force unfortunately. I suspect his life will be a total success in an endeavor outside of basketball.
The "mouth from Iowa", however, felt differently and bet $20K that Joey would be in the NBA this year. Just so you know, I have alerted Dan McLean to alert me if such a donation is made, as I will indeed salute Bob for living up to HIS stated obligation. I, however, am not holding my breath, I'm guessing that Bob Welchersham is all "nose to chin". No money, just mouth!

Maybe Bob W. can be exiled to the CMU board for a year?
