Damn... We really need to get into some more of these preseason/early season tournaments. Call every single decent midmajor all over the country and beg if you have to lol. Take 2 or 3 for 1s with big time programs. Accept neutral site games. Our stock is rising. We should be able to schedule some good games.

Being in the American will help.

Definitely need to get into some tournaments. Once we are in the AAC, I would like to see UAB aggressively go after 2-3 power 5 home and homes and strategically target games against the A-10, Missouri Valley and WCC. I would also be fine with continuing to play MTSU, WKU and perhaps ODU although I would understand if there is not much interest in playing the former C-USA rivals. I also think we should attempt also take on at least one “buy” road game per year against a blue blood — Kentucky, Duke, UNC, Michigan State, Kansas, Arizona, Indiana, Michigan … playing those types of schools, yeah you probably lose but the value of a win is too great to pass up, and the kind of players we recruit want to find out just how good they are.

I like that we played Saint Louis. More of that please. Dayton, St Joes, Murray State, Loyola, San Fran, Saint Mary’s, BYU … please. Once we’re in the AAC maybe some Big East programs like Marquette, DePaul, Creighton, Butler will be willing to play us again.

I suspect it depends on when the AAC departing teams leave for the Big 12 which depends on when the Big 12 departing teams leave for the SEC...

There's no suspect about it. Aresco flat out said it yesterday. We get in when the BXII-3 leave. There will be no crossover. If they negotiate a buyout to leave June 30, 2023, we enter July 1, 2023. If there is no settlement it will all be delayed until 2024.
