CBI format
Apparently 16 teams are invited which includes Troy from the Sun Belt. All games are played at the Ocean Center in Daytona Beach. First two rounds are televised on FloHoops. Semifinals and Final game are on ESPN2. Sounds like a nice deal for the teams that attend. Especially true if you end up having a game or 2 televised nationally on ESPN2. Kind of like going to a bowl game for Spring Break.

That’s actually a reward except for the FloSports part.

That’s the fans problem, not the players. Although agree that FloSports is a mess!

RE: CBI format
Maybe 100 fans in the stands for tonight's CBI semifinal nightcap. The TBC is a total mess as they were only able to get like 21 teams (they wanted 32) and I think 3 dropped out. The CBI semifinals tonight, along with the final, are on ESPN2. So I'm sure they get some money for that and Daytona Beach gets 6 hours of "advertising" for their city. So maybe ESPN, who likes to have live programming, will allow them to survive. I actually think if you have one "extra" 16 team tournament it will be able to fill their bracket with pretty solid mid-major teams. But 2 tournaments with 48 slots is obviously more than the market will bear.

The CBI final is actually a pretty solid midmajor match-up- MTSU (26-10) vs. UNC-Wilmington (26-9).
