RE: Selection Show
According to the Bracket Matrix, Texas A&M really got screwed. Notre Dame is the team that shouldn't be in although they were chosen by 54 of 100 brackets, Rutgers was by 55 of 100 brackets, and we won't know who most of the brackets will have left out until likely tomorrow.
I had all four 1's, Tennessee instead of Duke as a #2, and Houston instead of Providence as a #4.
I had switched Auburn to the South, Kentucky to the Midwest, and Villanova to the East. They put Auburn in the Midwest and Kentucky wound up in the East, leaving Villanova to the South. Then again, the last time Villanova was in San Antonio they cut down the nets! The Committee really liked Wisconsin making them #9 overall, the top #3, ahead of Purdue.

RE: Selection Show
Hot takes:
° The committee really wants a UNC-Baylor matchup-up. Hopefully, they get it this season.
° Big Ten overrated once again, but they'll take care of that suffering 70% attrition before the weekend is over.
° Wake vs Iona for the NIT title!
Be back with more...

I hope the Rams slap them around.
...I see what you did there...
Can't say Michigan didn't receive a big helping of generosity.

The last at large was Notre Dame. Had Texas A&M won, Notre Dame would have been out. The First Four in order were 43. Wyoming, 44. Rutgers, 45. Indiana, 47. Notre Dame.
How do they determine who has to be in the First Four? It's bizarre. Let's call them what they are: play-in games. You don't even get to the site of the first round.

RE: Selection Show
Didn't ESPN have a show that was on late into the night? I see there is a Bracketology show on for like an hour and a half.
What happened to that show where they acted like a sleepover?

Why did CBS put out inaccurate information on the broadcast?

CBSSN has a 3-hour show that re-runs overnight.
In the late 2000s/early 2010s, CBSSN would have replays of every single NCAA Tournament game throughout the summer. It was absolutely amazing. That stopped for some reason -- maybe because Turner became part of the package.

I have noticed that the committee LOVES to put two strong major (non power) teams against each other in the first round.
UH/UAB, Memphis/BSU, Murray/USF are examples.

Villanova has their token sh***** white again guy this year. Definitely need to look for them again. Too bad the token will play never basketball again after this month.

It may not be the NBA, but Gillespie is a lock to be playing basketball professionally. Even if he doesn't, just playing at the level he's played at the past 5 years is more of an accomplishment than anyone spewing venom behind a keyboard.

The West Region is a killer. Outside of Cal St Fullerton and Montana St, there's not a school in it that would be considered "easy." I could see any 1 of 6 or 7 schools coming out of the West Region.

They're a dangerous team from a pretty good MW.
Definitely good enough to get past a Memphis and give Gonzaga a scare.

Final Bracket Matrix Summary:
https://www.btpowerhouse.com/2022/3/14/2...-committee
Texas A&M got screwed and Notre Dame took their spot. Why does that sound familiar?
I didn't realize it when I put my bracket together but Texas A&M BEAT Notre Dame this year!
So all the hate towards other schools should be headed Notre Dame's direction although Rutgers deserves a lot of hate according to the Matrix, they would have barely made it in as the last team in. Michigan and Indiana were well in the field according to the Matrix, they don't deserve criticism.

I’ll criticize whomever I want. Michigan had a stinky year and shouldn’t be in the Dance. 17-14 should not be rewarded, I don’t care how many good teams you lost to.
I’ll give more credit to Rutgers because they beat a bunch of overrated Big Ten teams. But the thing is, they showed vast improvement over this season and I dig that. Except we’re not supposed to recognize teams getting better over the season? It just works for some not others I suppose.
