Hot take: Memphis gets a higher seed than houston
This isn’t what I necessarily feel like what each team deserves but what I could see the committee doing. If Memphis wins tonight the metrics will look something like this:
Houston 7ish net. Q1 1-6, Q2 8-0, Q3 10-0, 155ncos
Memphis 25ish net. Q1 6-3, Q2 3-4, Q3 8-2, 42 ncsos
I know the feeling is that our championship doesn’t matter for seeding because it’s too late but I feel like if they have us seeded close enough they could flip the seeds based on the winner.
The committee seems to really value Q1 wins over anything else. We know houston won’t be anywhere near a 1-2 seed like their NET would put them. So how hard is the committee going to screw them?? They have no bad losses but if you ignored the NET that q1 record would have them on the bubble.
My prediction is a 6 for the winner. 7 for the loser.

I'm sure there were quite a few memphis fans that thought winning today was a done deal for them.
Is why you play the games.
