It is what it is.

Off the ball movement is good, Lomax is good. Off the ball movement is bad, Lomax is bad. He is getting into the lane the same all the time. Him being good or bad is only dependent on whether or not Williams is playing. The team is bad (7-7) without him, and great (34-10) with him.

No stats for any of our players mean anything. The only stat is Williams playing or not playing.

The players love playing with Lomax on the floor. It's obvious. Same with Deandre. Deandre is the energy, and Lomax is the confidence.

When you watch the body language, there is genuine love for him from all of his teammates. They don't hang their head or have bad body language. The players know he is a leader.

He does play great defense & hustles, I don’t even question that part. What I do question is his decision making as our primary ball handler. It has not improved after four years and he still makes the same middle school mistakes as a Senior. It’s time for a refresh in our backcourt at that position, our ceiling is limited without a top tier PG (it has been for 4 years now). He’s a good college PG, not one that will take us to the next level. He has a big heart and plays hard, but that also doesn’t make up for the comedy of errors he still makes, again, as our primary ball handler.

Without a doubt. While many of us have given up on him at various times his teammates haven't. The kid knows the game, he just gets lost with no outlet at times. If he doesn't go overseas and get paid to play I can easily see him going into coaching and on Penny's staff in the future.

I absolutely loved seeing him score double digits yesterday. IMO he needs to shoot more, especially when he gets in the lane with nowhere to go.

He is a flawed player with a huge heart. He has earned my respect but he still invokes frustration several times a game.

Bottom line is we lost yesterday without him.

Um,you do realize that we are going to "the next level" for the first time in a gazillion years and that ALo is a piece of that puzzle, right?

Not for nothing, Davis had 4 turns himself with only 2 ast. Lomax basically held the conference player of the year to limited numbers while outperforming him in almost every other stat line.

I've been hard on Lomax for the last three years and much of this year but it's time to let go. He has elevated his game in the second half of the season and is an integral part of this team. Will he still make some boneheaded plays? Probably. Will I still vent my frustration as I have in the past? I will try very hard not to.

This^. He has a little Tony Allen in him. You have to take the good with the bad. He will make plays that make u say wow and then have u cussing on the next play. He is very much a net positive in my opinion and we would have lost yesterday without him

RE: Alex Lomax is a riddle…
The team has other issues, just like most other teams, but point guard and quarterback are the most vital and visible positions. I see nothing wrong with appreciating what Lomax brings to the team while recognizing the teams ceiling “may” be lower with him as the primary point guard. This team is really good now, but could they have been great with a primary guard that is less turnover prone? We all need constructive criticism. It helps us become better, or if we can’t, we change careers. The key word is constructive. Some have gone overboard, but this is social media….

LOMAX LOVE!

Alex seems to get overwhelmed and make some really poor choices when the game is fast and loose.. but when it comes to grind time he's a solid point guard. i wish he was more of a threat from 3, but he plays better in these types of situations than at home when they are showing off..

nice game by ALO today, lots of guts.
